  1. I know it's the weekend and all, but I am feeling blue today. Both kids are at school, so called husband away at funeral, and I am feeling blah. I don't think even a big plate of bacon would help.

Not depressed, just blah. House is clean, no laundry to do; I should be feeling great. Nope. I don't even want chocolate. Wow, I must be sick. :)

Have been trying to get all my ducks in a row for impending divorce. Think I have covered all the bases I can for now.

Maybe I will go rent some silly movie to cheer me up. Any suggestions guys?

  3. How about the Bird Cage? Light hearted, not too serious and very funny. I've seen it 100 times and still have to laugh. Cheer up, every day is a journey. Welcome the oportunity to see where the journey takes you next.

I don't know any really good silly movies. My sense of humor is a little different, but one that always makes me smile is Night At the Museum.

  5. I'd recommend the old Indiana Jones movies - easy to watch and always make me smile.
I know what you mean about feeling blah, I get that way sometimes too. Hope it passes soon!

  6. Was thinking about Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, those always crack me up. My sense of humor tends to be a bit darker than others HM. I love Night at the Museum too. I love Bird Cage! Actually watched all the Indie movies last month with the boys. That is how Indie and Jonzie(RIP) got their names. LOL!

  9. Julie, It's raining here too. We are supposed to be 80 today, well it's gray and icky. Midwest weather..so fun.
Well humor is an individual thing, but my hubby LOVES the movie Walk Hard, the Dewey Cox story and movies like that.
I love to watch Eddie Izzard do his stand up. That guy cracks me up.
I hope you get your blahs away soon!! Hugs from Cleveland!!

  10. How about anything from the mind of Mel Brooks? Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles...
A couple of other suggestions would be 1941 and Animal House.
I know the blahs quite well and hope your TDK family can chase them away real soon!

  12. rn4restrn... I understand. I'm in that same blue funk. The weather is beautiful! Sunny and in the 90's - I don't mind the heat. Yet I'm tired and just cranky. I hope you found a good movie to lift your spirits !!

  13. I'm sorry...I know this sounds crazy, and it would not really be me, but sometimes doing something totally out of character may change your mindset; how about a walk in the rain, followed by a nice cup of hot tea, coffee or better yet hot chocolate with tons of marshmallows! Anyway, here's just thinking about you.

  15. Just a thought, but how about some self empowerment! Pull your resume together, put it up on Monster.com. Look through the paper (most can be seen online for free). Come up with a plan...... 2 months is really short amount of time.

  16. One that always makes me smile is "Tootsie" ! Oh, and for complete silliness of the brain dead nature, I love "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure"! Hope you feel better soon! Take time to pamper yourself-you deserve it!

  17. TOGA TOGA TOGA!

Sorry, I just loved John Belushi in Animal House. One of my favorite college movies. My husband and I watch that every fall. I work at a large university and he works at a high school. Academia is in our blood.

If you like "Birdcage" you might also like "To Wong Foo, so long and thanks for everything, Julie Newmar" It's an absolute scream to see Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze and John Legurrano (sp) in full drag and camping it up. I always feel better after watching that movie. Campy fun, ladies, campy fun.

  21. Animal House was filmed right here in Eugene, Oregon. An aquaintance of ours had a bit part in it. He was the handyman who came into the President's office with a chain saw to remove the dead horse. LOL
