  1. Furl is just a sweet, goofy, very laid-back cat. She is adorably dim. When she isn't sleeping she is often seen with that thousand yard stare going on. It is always a suprise when she jumps up and gets active. We just shake our heads and love on her. :)

  2. Goodnight, linda. Try not to work tomorrow if you don't need to!!

  3. Yeah, Brain is kinda like that...she is the short legged chunky kind of cat and not very graceful...but she DEPISES being brushed so she gets mats sometimes which actually make things worse!

  4. Thanks KW...nite!

  5. Would Brain tolerate being vacuumed? :D

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  6. hahaha! She doesn't like the regular vacuum...she's really kinda weird...loves water and will lick the condensation off glasses and if you squirt one of the other cats, she comes running to lick them but hates to be squirted herself...loves to drink out of the faucet but now expects you to put your hand under the water to deflect it so she doesn't have to lean in. My husband starting doing that but I told her she can stand in the sink if she wants it!

  7. Hiya--Hubby came home right after Bear (MoochFan) logged on. Since Hubby had the costume we rented for the Wax Museum project in tow, Bear couldn't wait to try it on. The testerone-poisoned ones are off shooting Nerf darts at each other now.

  9. Hi, Ginny! I love that--testosterone-poisoned! ROFLOL

  10. Jeu back! The guys just came and put the spa up! They couldn't set it up until we got the platform set up! So by Mid may it should be up and running once we get the electrician off!

  11. What kind of costume did you rent and what was the Wax Museum project?

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  12. Hi, again, Ange. Hopefully, it will be warm enough by mid-month to start using the spa. How does it look?

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  13. Adios, Linda! Catch ya next time!

KW, I haven't received a ROFL... in quite some time--it feels good! After today, I'm taking all the feel-good I can get.

BTW, Bear looked INCREDIBLE as Alexander the Great!

  14. Did you take photos of Bear in his costume, Ginny?
    Was today a tough day?

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  15. Not too bad KW! I think we will be needing it come Memorial Day weekend! Since we voulnteer that weekend fo the Morgan hill mushroom Mardi Gras!

Posted 4 years ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  16. What will they have you doing for the Mushroom Mardi Gras?

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  17. KW, the 7th grade at Bear's school does what is called the "Wax Museum" project every year in the spring (after the TAKS test). They spend the whole 2nd semester preparing for it. They select a historical figure, research him/her, prepare a 12-sentence biography and memorize it, prepare a display board,
dress up as their subject, and present themselves to the public. They set up in the cafeteria and gym for 2 days in May (1/2 the 7th grade one day, the other 1/2 the next). Whenever a person asks a student about their subject, the student has to recite the memorized biography. When Ladybug was in 7th grade, she was Anne Frank. I even gave her a suit that had been my grandmother's in the 1930's--very authentic! For Bear, though, we rented a costume--some things are beyond my ability to fabricate!

  18. That sounds so cool, Ginny. I bet he enjoyed working on that. E-mail me a picture if you have one you can share.

  21. Goodnight, Ange! I hope you hear from the coonie breeder this weekend!

  22. I'll have to take a photo. No, KW, today wasn't a bad day. Bad is insufficient for a day in which the Sheriff's deputy who serves as the district resource officer came in twice, the local PD was called in once, my room got trashed twice, four adults were called the "f" word by a student, and the principal was struck.

No, to use the word "bad" would go FAR beyond even the British definition of "understatement"! And guess how many students are in my classroom?

Posted 4 years ago by gatakitty #

  23. Fewer than five students, I think. What a tsunami of a day!! Thank God for weekends!!!

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  24. If the kids are that violent, are they appropriate for mainstreaming?

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  25. I have one student. I also have an aide who spent years working juvy. She says that she has never encountered the kind of abuse that she has had to deal with from this one. To make matters worse, this kid is too young to charge, prosecute, or send to alternative placement.

Oh, did I mention that he ran away, too?

Posted 4 years ago by gatakitty #

  26. He sounds like he needs to be in a lockdown institution, Ginny!
    How old is he?

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  27. Under 9, but not pre-k. Does that give you a fair idea without my being too specific? This kid is also the size of our average 5th-grader, with strength and adrenaline to spare.

Posted 4 years ago by gatakitty #

  28. Yes, I understand the need to be discreet. Lots of privacy issues!

I think they should give you combat pay! How many days/weeks left before you are done?

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  29. Goodnight, Ginny. I hope you have a chance to relax this weekend!

Posted 4 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  30. Thanks, KW. More later. I feel better already. I am off, too. Take it away, KK and Deb! The floor is all yours.
