Wow, Instinct, I just watched that UTube video of the Raptor at the air show at Langley. Wow again-what a plane!! It looked like it was actually dropping straight down out of the air at one point. Sheesh-and I get carsick riding in the back seat of a car!

Yea, the professor knows what he is talking about. He was a special effects animator at ILM for 5 years and worked on Phantom Menace, Sleepy Hollow and a few others that I don't remember.
My problem is that once I read something and know it, I don't really feel like regurgitating it to PROVE I know it. Arrogant, I know, it's just I would like to move on to something new.
I'm SO ADD :)

M&MM, I don't think Lynn is online on the weekends. I hope she and Kay got through Nora's funeral yesterday in good shape.
My day has been quiet except for phone calls to my mother and sister who've been supporting my brother's choice to place his daughter in an adoptive home. I also spoke to my brother who very earnestly wants me to support this decision. I told him I don't support it and I won't be involved in it. I can't make his decision for him. He's a 45-year-old going on 15-year-old "adult."

Instinct, I bet you would be a delight for a teacher to have in class. It must be wonderful to have students truly engaged and interested in a topic (even if you are bored by the homework).

M&MM: My niece is going to be 8 on Friday. She does need counseling. To my brother's credit, he does have her see a counselor once or twice a week. She has issues with her mom dying in July as a result of her long term alcoholism (she was only 39). She was essentially raising herself for the last several years as her mom went further and further downhill until my brother divorced her a year ago. She is a real survivor and every bit as strong as my brother when it comes to wanting to be in control. My sister has found a great sounding family that lives in Alaska. They have been fully informed of my niece's home life and the issues she is dealing with. They have the means to get her into any type of counseling she needs.

Well, all I can say is that must be one great family. Actually, any family that adopts is a great family, but those who take in kids that have problems, either mental or physical, are saints in my book.

Dorie, I've decided to step back from my brother since my efforts to be supportive don't seem to be getting anywhere. I've told him I love him and I'll support him in anything he does that leads to positive parenting, but I don't want to be involved in his drama (especially with law enforcement) or this plan to give his daughter up for adoption since he hasn't made a real effort to learn how to meet her needs. It's just healthier for me this way.
It will be an open adoption if it goes forward. The family is flying from Alaska to Oregon tomorrow to meet her.

Dorie-you are all of those things, but you're also very loving and a wonderful friend, too. I haven't received any back yet! Maybe people don't have a word for me?? My mother always called me independent, which I am. My sister says that's why I love my cats, because they're independent, too.
