Well, the vet said we should take Taco off the enzyme pill/powder all together to give his body a break from it and see how his poos do. They were back to semi-formed this morning and hes not as sick. She basically said its pretty much the only treatment for this, and it can't be taken in any other form (suppository/shot/etc), so if his diarrhea returns really bad to stay we are going to have to keep trying and deal with the vomit and hope he absorbs enough for it to be okay.
This is such scary news. I just want him to absorb nutrients and have ok poops and live a nice life. I really really really hope something happens. Does anyone know any vets or anyone who would have any other ideas at all, no matter how far fetched they are? I am thinking about searching online for vet specialists (other than her) in this area and see if there are any more with more ideas/opinions.

Ginirosaru, I've been pretty pleased by what you've described of your veterinarian so far. She's been pretty persistent about trying to find the cause of your kitty's illness, as well as pursuing the most effective treatment available.
That being said, I hope you've made it clear to your veterinarian that you fully expect her to consult with specialists (such as Cornell) or refer you to a feline endocrine/exocrine specialist (which may be available, in a city as big as NYC) if all the treatments pursued with Taco don't end up producing the results desired.
As far as Cornell goes, it's closer for you to get to Cornell than it was for me to get from Lincoln, NE to Manhattan, KS when I took my poor cat Keph there for diagnosis. It can be difficult to arrange time off & transportation, but your vet may recommend the expertise of the veterinary specialists & treatments available at Cornell.
Best of luck! I hope Taco's overall condition has been jump-started well enough to keep him on track. Is it possible it's just a dosage problem, that perhaps Taco would respond better to a lower dosage?

NYC FELINE SPECIALIST http://www.manhattancats.com/
Tuttibella just took Lucy Belle to a feline specialist I can't find the reference but it may be in the NYC area.
Are you out there Tutti?

Ginirosaru, I can't add anything to the EXCELLENT advice you've already gotten here, all I can do is continue to pray fervently and send all of the healing white light I can for Taco and for you ~ don't give up this fight for Taco, I just know you'll find an answer soon!

Ginirosaru, I think I already told you about going through this identical odyssey with CJ in her first year. The only thing that got her relief was Buprenex, a pain killer that is mildly constipating. That got things slowed down so she could then keep down an antibiotic. The Buprenex was a treatment of last resort--but it worked! She was in so much pain...she screamed every time she pooped, which was nine-10 times a day--and all that pain made it impossible to keep any nutrients in her, since the pain made her throw up anything she ate.
I think many vets would be hesitant to try this...but we were at the "nothing to lose" stage, and it sounds like you are, too. email me at lisamc-lpc@sbcglobal.net if you'd like to know more or read CJ's vet notes. This approach really did save her life. Misty, CJ and I will pray together that your precious Taco is healed. L/L
