My name is Nena and I have a 7 1/2 week old kitten named Joey. He's very active and loves to play and has a healthy appetite. Today I noticed he threw up in his litterbox and hasnt eaten but a few bites of his breakfast, last night he didnt eat much of his dinner either. I feed him 3 times a day at the same time, so i'm sure that he should be ready to eat when I feed him. I also saw him sneeze. He hasnt had his shots yet, everywhere I go says he has to be 8 weeks before they can do anything! He's still pretty active and is running and playing as we speak. I've had him for a month and this is the first time he's showed any signs of being sick! Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I love him terribly! He's my first cat.

Welcome Joey's Mommie, nice to see you here. Please do take the little one to the vet. That is always the safest route. When you have a chance, can you post pictures of little Joey on Catster so we call all oohhh and aaawww over your little darlin? If you click on most of our "pink" names, you can meet the rest of our TDK family.
Can't wait to hear of the rest of Joey's anticts!

Nena, if I were in your shoes, I'd definitely take little Joey to the vet today. Loss of appetite, lethargic behavior, vomiting, and sneezing all look like symptoms of illness to me. A kitten who doesn't eat can go downhill quickly from that alone (regardless of what's causing him to not eat).
Your vet should be able to help narrow down the possible causes of Joey's symptoms, and start a recommended course of treatment.
Good luck!

Nena, glad you have a vet appt, and hope your little guy is A-ok. I'll share one bit of kitty insight I learned while dealing with CJ, my female Manx. She was the sickest kitten ever (but she is a ball of mischief now.)
You'll often see sick cats throw up in their litter box because any time they're having lower bowel pain, it triggers their gag reflex (this is true in all mammals, including people, but cats are super-sensitive to it). They go to the box trying to get relief from the pain, and the gag reflex is triggered and they throw up, whether or not they had nausea to start with.
The long and short of this....any kitty barfing in their box needs a vet! Let us know how it goes, please. We care.
