And, as long as I seem to be dominating the postings, let me bring y'all up to date on Sneakers and Spikes.
Even though my husband was resigned to adding two kittens to the household, he was a little concerned about being married to a 'crazy cat lady'. So, he introduced our neighbour to Spikes (the new grey kitty).
Turns out Darcy has been looking and looking for a grey kitten. She kept coming over and visiting him and every time she came into the house, Spikes ran to her and climbed her leg. He just loves her.
This Sunday we invited all the neighbours over for a 'baby' shower. Everyone brought wrapped gifts (cat toys, food, sand, etc.) and we presented them to Darcy. Then I gave her Spikes and told her to take good care of him. She cried.
Now we are scheduling 'play dates' for Sneakers and Spike.
I was worried about him being an "only kitten" but he is sooooooooooooooo spoiled now that I doubt he even has time to miss me.
The neighbour's husband claimed not to be a cat person. Indeed, he has always insisted that if a cat dared to enter his bedroom, said cat would find itself drop kicked into the next room. You can imagine how amused we are to find that Spikes sleeps, not only in the bedroom, but on the hubby's pillow.
So, even though Spikes has a new home, he is still kinda my kitten and he has the best of both worlds - he's an only cat plus he's a cat with siblings.
