good thinking JK! I like the idea of a thread devoted to ferals.

    Let’s post AZDebs post exactly:

I just ran across a Rubbermaid website with instructions for building feral cat shelters from Rubbermaid containers. They say:

“eRubbermaid.com is proud to support the ongoing fight to maintain the overwhelming population of feral cats in the Unites States. Through our “Roughneck Homes” program you will find resources to help build and maintain a safe living environment for feral cats in your area, as well as access to our popular Roughneck Containers at zero-margin prices/delivery for use in building your shelter or donating to a charitable organization.

    Way to go Rubbermaid!

They have several links to building structures, as well as showing them on this site, and several links to organizations about feral cats.

I use a rubbermaid tub like that turned upside down with a bigger door cut as a feeding station for the ferals I feed on the university campus.

I dunno, they don’t eat when I’m around but they don’t have to do more than put their head in and I’ve found front paw prints inside from where they steadied themselves with a paw so I guess so.

I’ve kept a shelter out all year for strays/ferals. Don’t usually use it unless it is really treacherous. Think it’s because it only has one opening & can be iffy for cat if prey is aroud. Did find a possum in it last year, Lol!
