Karen, I can't add much more to what everyone has expressed above, Abby and you have been blessed to have been in each other's lives thru it all mushy feelings galore. May the crossing be peaceful and gentle and know that Abby will not be forgotten now or ever. If you get a chance and haven't done so yet, try to get an impression of her foot so you can have a visual reminder of her signature so to speak. Thinking of you Karen and Abby, may the journey across the Bridge be pain free and peaceful. Look for a black lab/springer spaniel called Nellie who passed over aged 18 in similar circumstances, she loved chasing bunnies too. Her collar still hangs in the lounge here.

Creator God, on the sixth day You formed the land-dwelling animals and human beings. You gave to humanity the responsibility of caring for the creatures You made and brought them before Adam to see what he would call them. Today we come before You to give thanks for the life of Your creature whom we have called by name, Abby. We ask that You comfort Karen at the end of Abby life on earth, and entrust Abby to Your eternal love.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I am really feeling all the {{{Hugs}}} very strongly and we are all resting in calm and with peace as the time draws nearer. The vet has left open a time for us to bring Abby in. I'm expecting this may occur sometime after between ll:30 and 1:30. Mail delivery here is uncertain with the holiday schedules throwing off normal delivery. Thankyou for all your thoughts as it does give both Jeff and I strength and I feel your love brings Abby comfort as well. I'll check back when I have more news. God Bless.

Karen, thinking of you, Jeff and Abby so much today. It is so hard, I know. Cuddle close to Abby and whisper shared memories of happy times. Abby has had a wonderful life with a wonderful family and has been so loved. Could any of us ask for more than that?

I just wanted,as a favor for Karen, to let you all know that Sweet Abby is at Peace now with no more pain & playing with all our little buddies hangin' with Chester. As I know you all understand,Karen is feeling much pain from her loss,& she would like us to not worry if she should not post for awhile. She just needs some quiet time.
I myself am so Proud of her for doing the right thing for Abby. She's no longer in pain. And I'm sure that with the help of Jeff, Amos,Toughy,Shady,Oreo,& Sugarfoot,She'll get thru this pain.
Have I told you guys lately that your the best. Your sharing of Love & Support was so very helpful. I Love You & I'm sure Karen & Jeff would say the same.

Gentle Abby running through the stars and playing with all the other animals that have gone before her. She is pain free and happy that she was loved, had a good family and loved everyone back. Karen, I understand how you feel tonight, tomorrow and the days ahead. You did an unselfish act, an act of love and you don't have to worry about Abby anymore. She is always alive in your heart. She has gotten kitty kisses, headbonks and guidance from the special ones who are there to greet the newcomers. She is pain free, happy, and waiting to see you again when the time is right. Karen, I'm so sorry that you had to let Abby go, but I'm sure it was best for her. Faced with the single most difficult decision any pet owner faces, you did the right thing, in spite of your own personal grief. You have my deepest and most gentle sympathy.
You and Jeff are in my thoughts and prayers tonight. May your current pain and sorrow soon be eclipsed by warm, loving memories of the best parts of Abby's life.

Sleep well Abby while you wait for your Earth bound family! Know that you will be sorely missed by your family as well as me. Though we never had the chance to meet Momma Karen told me much and I know how much it has hurt her to take so long t send you peacefully from here to a place of forever you, loads of treats and the finest gourmet meals and the best never break or shred toys a place where you can go for a walk wheever you want and a place that is always full of Spring. Abby wait patiently for your Mommie to join you as you have done for so many years. Waiting for er to come home from work, or school or ever shopping always faithful and always adoring. You've shed tears and sorrows with her and have been a great comfort now she is called upon to return that love and devotion as she ends the pain you feel, though I know you know it hurts her to let you go she does so to set you free of pain and aches.
