  1. I would really appreciate the info...
As probably none of you know I was baptized in Manhattan and I'm having complications in getting in touch with St Joseph of Yorkville Church to get my baptismal documentation so I can get married!
So if anyone knows anyone that lives or will soon go to NY City could you please tell me?

    Thank you all so much.

  4. Marina,
I live in Manhattan; is there anything I can do? I know a lot of churches have been closed in recent years, but that doesn't seem to be the case with St. Joseph's.

  7. Hello everybody! As always thank you for your help!

I have sent countless mails to this church to ask them about my baptismal documents and have received no answers. My church in Madrid won't accept to marry us if I don't have the baptismal documents!
I was born in NY because back then my father worked in a Spanish bank that had a branch there. If they don't answer back I will have to end up going and economically before our wedding I just don't think I can afford it!

So I though that maybe one of you could call and ask for me? I was called Marina Kothe (my last name then was that of my step-grandfather.... long story...) Is that possible? I have tried to call but must have the wrong code numbers...

    Pretty please?

  16. If Pipa's Mum asked me to fly to NYC, take a cab to the church and bang on the door until they handed over her baptismal records, you know I would do it!

  17. I actually know you would... *blush* but I hope you also know I would never ask a favour that big if it wasn't life or death... (or a kitty was involved)

  18. I'm sure they would hand it over once I started waving my Santa Rita scapular around! "Hey! I may not be Catholic, but I have CONNECTIONS~!"

  20. Good luck Marina. At least there is plenty of time to get it worked out. If it is not resolved by the end of July, let me know. I am driving to vermont and back and could make a pit stop in New York to bang on a door and demand satisfaction!

  21. Let us know when this gets resolved! What a community, just give us a problem to solve, international or not, and presto, chango, you peeps spring into action! Well done!

  24. All I can say is thank you all again and again...
I will write a letter to the church and wait patiently for a reply... if there is none by the end of summer I know who to call!

I have been blessed by all your friendship... please let me know if I have to get your baptismal documents anywhere in Europe! (Or anything at all...)
