  1. I was just wondering...do you give your cats middle names? teehee ^-^
Rocky and Macey have one, when I first got them I knew Rocky's middle name was going to be Ray (sense Harley ((who died at the age of one from heart failure)) had the middle name Ray, I thought I could remember his spirit by giving Rocky Harley's middle name) and then I came up with the middle name 'Fay' for Macey, it took me a little while for me to catch on that 'Fay' and 'Ray' rhymed. (I gave them these middle names accidently.) So when ever I get ticked off with Rocky and Macey like for example, if they clawed the rugs I'd say "Rocky Ray and Macey Fay, come here this instint!"

The question is: Do you give you cats Middle Names?

  2. Nope. I count myself lucky enough that they learn their own names! (I'm still not entirely sure that Violet knows hers yet.)

  3. No middle names but sometimes titles or last names... ie; HRH the Duchess of Cat (Duchess)
    Victoria Kitten (Victoria) ;Sebastian Black (Sebastian);
Queen Eponine (Eponine ,RIP); Smokey Dokey (Smokey ,RIP)

  4. Rocky and Macey know there names, its just fun to add a little middle name along with it (I don't call them by there middle names very often...at the most, once every week.)

  5. I think mine know their names, but usually I get the Robert DeNiro Taxi Driver look..."you talkin' to me? Are you talkin' to me!"

  6. As a kid, when my mom called me by both my first and second name, I was in TROUBLE with a capital T. Don't want our babies to think that, do we?
I usually call Max "Maxie Boy" and Molly "Molly Dolly". That's as close to a middle name as I have come.

  7. Great question...I do give all of my babies middle names. Just as examples (my list would be too long!) Willow is Willow Blessing and Karina is Karina Poo. Tigerlilly has many middle names. By the way, they all seem to know their names quite well.
In fact I need help findng middle names for my 3 fosters. Their names are Romeo, Juliet and Montague.

  8. Dara is officially Scallywags Mercedes according to her breeder's papers. But we called her Dara which is Thai for Star. So Scallywags Mercedes are her middle names.

Ninja, our Siamese before Dara, had Frank as his middle name - due to his Blue Eyes!

Spike our tabby has Snufkin as a middle name - its a name of a character from the Moomin books. Miu will understand!

  9. Cato doesn't have a middle name as such, but he has a secret name. No one else is permitted to use this name. :) Elizabeth

  10. Cheetah's middle name is BadBoyOfTheWorld. All one word and spoken with love.

  11. KapitiKatz, I thought I was the only one here who knew and loved the Moomin books. I was introduced to them by a Swedish friend. My husband was just in Stockholm and brought me some Moomin memorabilia.

  13. Moonshadow doesn't have a muddle name but she has seasonal names. In winter, which we will be in in a matter of days she is known as and answers to Butterball. She has put on her winter coat and padding and is now a big cat. Shadz(abbreviated name) is also referred to as Her Ladyship,Bubby and Bubbles. Bubby is what she is called most often because she is our youngest 'child'.
Tigerlilly I love the Moomin books too and the Hattifatteners were my favourite characters mainly because they scared KK when I read her the stories, he he he.

  14. I love Moomin, too! Grew up with them! :)

Bobby and Mi have middle names for when they're bad - it's the same name for each of them - name's "NO!" As in Bobby NO! and Miley NO! They seem to know those names! :)

I read somewhere that cats respond better to names ending in an "ee" sound - hence Bobby and Miley.

  15. MS, We call Fred-Bubby, that's his name most of the time too :)
We do the ee sounding names too GD, Bubby and Crickie

  16. My Max [RIP] became Maxwell Q. Occasionally, I called him Baby Boy, even at age 17. Smudge doesn't have any other name, except I'll sometimes call her Smudger or Mama's girl. Chance hasn't had any other names yet. A couple of times recently when he's been in trouble, I've called him Monster Kitty.

  17. GD--believe me, the 'ee' sound doesn't work with ALL cats--Bosley can prove this! :)

Mine don't have middle names, but they do have names for when they're in trouble. Bosley becomes 'BOSWELL!!!!!!!!!!!!' and Bailey's is Bay Leeeeeeeee!

  18. Nora becomes Nora Jean when she is in trouble. My cats don't usually have middle names, just nicknames.

  19. Most of my pets have middle names. There is Tigger Lee, Eve Marie, Stubby Louise, and Scout Mack

  20. All of my current crop have middle names. Gracie Hill (family name) Emma Blue (she's a blue point) and Theirry Henry (named after the fabulous French soccer player so it is pronounced Teary Ahn-ree with a heavy Maurice Chevalier accent)

  21. My sister Darlene had the middle name Delaney, given to her by our mother. My Katie had the middle name Dale, which was the last name of her previous owner (she was addressed as Kathleen Dale when she was in big trouble). My best friend's calico was named Freckles Lynn, but I don't remember how that happened.

  22. Bastian used to be Sebastian Louise. Its so funny how middle names or nicknames just pop up when you talk to your babies.

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  25. Emerson doesn't have a middle name. Sometimes he is The Emerson.
Ferrule's middle name is apparently Louis since I tend to call him Ferrule-Loo

  26. No middle names, but nicknames aplenty!! Of course Huddy is Hudson when he's in trouble, Mavvy is Maverick - lol. And of course, they don't pay me any attention.

  27. Cato... "The naming of Cats?"....

  28. Lol! Maverick and Hudson, what darling names!

Posted 3 years ago by Catfancier #

  29. Love this thread! It's fun to know what others call their kitties, and how they decided. Yes, mine have middle names. Grommet is actually 'Grommet Suzzette', sometimes 'Grommie Suzie'; and MacKenzie is 'MacKenzie Duncan', but usually just Mac or MacKenzie Boy..... If I'm being ignored, or getting the 'ugly look' when I'm talking to them, then I assume they're telling me, "it's MISS Grommet Suzzette to you; or, it's MR. MacKenzie to you, mom ;-)
