Juuei had another doctor's appointment today. Good news is his thyroid levels are lowish but in the acceptable range. Bad news is he is not responding to the oral diabetes medication, his bloodwork is even worse than before it (a fortnight ago). Now his dose is doubled.
Please say a prayer for him. He really is a sweetest boy you can imagine.
I still haven't heard anything about the 13-year old tuxie lady who was going to be evicted from her home. :(
Good news about his thyroid. Managing diabetes meds may take some sorting out , so hang in there. Many prayers and TDK white light for your baby. Keep us posted.

Oh, sweet Juuei! Miu, if he has to go on injectable insulin, don't be scared. Kitties are so good about the shots, and since they just go under the skin, it doesn't hurt. It can take a while to figure out the correct dosage but once that is done, it's really not bad.

What WWM said is so true, once my Kinker got the meds dosage right, it was easy to give him his daily shots....he would just lie down after eating and wait, and if I wasn't there to do it right away he would come up and lie in front of me to remind me.

My friends cat is on injectable insulin and he is doing great now. He even wakes her up in the morning when it is time for his shot. Good luck and keep us posted.

Gibbie did not respond to the oral meds either so he had to be injected. He was so good about it. Once they get used to it they really don't seem to mind. Poor guy - he lived for so many years with the shots that toward the end it was hard to find places that didn't have scar tissue! I do recall that it took awhile to get the meds exactly where they should be. {{{HUGS}}} to both you and Juuei. Glad to hear his thyroid is OK. Even if you are a cat, getting old stinks!
Max and Molly and I send purrs and good thoughts for Juuei. Max has to be tested next week for glucose levels, don't know how that will come out. But as everyone said, the injections are easy to give and not traumatic to the kitty. You're a good mommy for taking such good care of him.

Daily insulin injections really aren't that scary to do Miu - I was terrified by the idea with Titch at first, but honestly, it was fine. Hugs and purrs!
