10/1??? Still looks like 10th Jan to me, but didn't want to confuse the majority!!!
Evening all, thought I'd start the nightshift as I'm still up and about. How's everybody today?

Still at work! Argh! I was supposed to be finished 15 minutes ago. Couldn't have anything to do with the time spent here...

Know that feeling Meezer Mama - I was 45 mins late leaving work today, and STILL had to trek around the supermarket doing our and Mum's shopping - I was a tad frazzled by the time I eventually got home!

Hey MCW,
Thanks for starting night shift.
I have a ton of work tonight, so I will be in and out, mostly out.
Hugs and purrs.

It's very tiring going every day One Popoki, please don't overdo it - if there's other people to share the visits, let them, you're no good to your Dad as a burnt out wreck.
And...hula class? Oh my!!

evening all nightshifters, MCW you could always use the 1.10.2007 or 10.1.2007 method for the date. It took me a long time to get back into the month/day/year when I came back to the states to retire. Lived in Germany and Italy so just took it as normal for the different ways to express the date. Well glad that Dorie's son is getting treatment, at home but he's on the road to recovery from the asthma attack. OP, hope that your Dad does better too. Going to try and go back to sleep, and hopefully more than an hour at a time before I go in at midnight. Ciao for now, everyone have a fun filled evening >^..^< AZDEB

Ah phooey, why does the decision to scoff some very yummy, but very crumbly dark chocolate always seem to coincide with the wearing of a light coloured t-shirt?

Hi OP,MCW,AB,MM and Catwoman!
I've usually not been a morning person for more than a year now, due to my physical rehabilitation and other disabilities, but today I was up by 9:30 EST and managed to actually do 3 flights of stairs by lunch(3p EST). Hope your Dad's doing well,OP.I'll probably play chat-tag w/you AB! "MM,this is the mental-health police,we have the building surrounded! Give yourself up and GO HOME!".MCW,No staying up past your bedtime now, mind!
MCW - I would love to share the visit time with others, but there are none to share the load. Except for my Mom... and she is there every day during the day. I have one brother, and his wife... brother is in Afghanistan and sister-in-law is in Colorado. So it's me. I missed 2 days last week and felt guilty... dad likes my coming to visit. I won't be able to go tomorrow night and the weekend (starting on Thursday) is looking to be challenging as well. I would hope he'd be home before then.. but I really don't think that will happen. Oh.. and his grandkids (my kids)? One lives in California and the other lost his driver license. So... it's me.
LOL Love your comment about the chocolate and light coloured t-shirt. Never fails !!
Oi, Tigerpaw, stop spoiling my fun! - I don't have to get up for work tomorrow, so can catch up on the old beauty sleep (well, stop looking like a zombie sleep) in the morning!!!

Chocolate and light coloured shirts ... yup. Just like tomato sauce and white shirts are a given!
BTW -- Hi everyone :)

I do understand One Popoki - I had no-one to share the visiting with when Mum was in, it was a 40 mile round trip every day for the best part of 3 months. And parking at UK hospitals is a bloody rip off!!! But don't feel guilty about the odd day off (easier said than done I know, I felt bad too), but you MUST look after you every so often, or you're no good to anyone.
Oh, and the t-shirt thing doesn't just work with chocolate - toner from the printer at work, tomato ketchup, and my own personal favourite - biro (I tend to waggle my pen around at work when zooming around like a nut, and invariably I'm holding it the wrong way round - right boob gets it every time!!!)

Hi Dorie, how's the patient?
Posted 4 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #
LOL MCW you crack me up!
I try to get some rest, and still do my things... like hula. I have to or I'd go completely mad. Fortunatly my drive is only 14 miles and parking is easy and free. Emotionally and physically draining though, but you know that. :)
Without my hula and Tahitian classes... well that's about my only exercise right now and it is an outlet. Oh.. I county dance too, but current shoulder issues make that a challenge. Doesn't comletely stop me, but I pay for it the next day. ;)
Phooey to the weekend! My weeks never end! :-P

I'm looking forward to the weekend, but have to get through Friday first - that's when I meet some top bods at the hospital that made such a botch up (see, I can be polite when I try) of Mum's treatment & discharge earlier this year. They had a 3.5 page letter of complaint from me, and have offered this meeting as step one of reconcilliation...me, I'm just trying to work out what clothes I've got to fake the high powered business woman doesn't take any nonsense persona I want to put forward (figured jeans & a t-shirt -with or without chocolate down the front!! - wouldn't quite cut it...)

I'm strongly reminded of your 80's thread Dorie!!!

LOL Dorie ... I think that's why my parents felt lucky that I loved to read, do little crafty things, and was basically brought up to entertain myself since I was the youngest of 5 but grew up as the only "child" in the household for the most part! Glad your son is doing better though!
MCW show some cleavage while you're at it to get your way ;) hahahah!!

I look like a tart in red Dorie ;-) Favourite at the mo is smart trousers, (brown or charcoal grey), high-heeled shoes (I need the height too!!), and a classic style jumper, with simple jewellry. Chris is coming with me, he was shocked when I told him he'd have to wear a shirt and tie!! I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow, so hopefully it will behave on the day. Half a can of spray should help! Oh, and make up. Don't usually bother with much during the day, but my Wall Street alter ego probably would, ha ha!
