  1. Liseaylau, glad that you are home again, hope that you are feeling better. Did they tell you anything at the hospital besides the southern smoke giving you problems, and how long before your heart rate comes close to normal?

owlwatcher, very happy that the abscess decided to finally open up and now maybe it can heal fast, Shiva let your mum clean up your face hon, it will make you feel tons better.

  2. Okay, it's been two weeks tomorrow. My heart rate is still over 100 and I can't do anything even mildly strenuous without getting light headed. Not good. I have many more tests and whatnot scheduled. I've got deluxe cabin fever--and worried about work. I got a call on Monday with *great* news. I got a contract with Child Protective Services to do in-home therapy. This could keep me working as many hours as I want to work! And, while some of them can come to me, most will need me to come to them. I really, really need to be well so I can tackle this.

CJ is licking my toes as I'm typing. That does wonders. But I do gotta wonder what the attraction is!

  3. Good to hear from you. I hope they can find an answer to this really soon.
I don't know about the toe thing but at least half of my 7 kitties love toes and feet!
    Best wishes

  4. Hi Lisa...Hang in there hon...I'm praying the doctors will have the answer soon. How funny about the little toe licker! My Shady is a licker too. When he gets all lovey dovey and turns on his purr engines he gets all silly with licking our hands and arms. My other kitties bite when they get that riled up. Please be well and know I'm praying for you. {{Hugs}}

  5. Sylvester loves my toes and will lick them sometimes. I actually like it. It tickels and kind of feels nice in a strange way. He also loves to stuff his face in my shoes. Funny kitty.

Really glad to hear you are at home Lisa. Hope they are able to get your heart rate down to a more livable rate. Healing white light to you. Hugs too.

  6. I will be praying they get your heart rate down to where it should be. For now, be sure to get plenty of rest and take plenty of snuggly kitty purrs. The more snuggly kitty purrs, the better. Kitty purrs have an amazing ability to cure almost anything.

  7. So sorry lisa. I frequently have panic attacks (Same rush) so I know how you feel. Sending positive healing energy your way so you can get past this.
    Peace, hugs and purrs.

  8. Sooooo good to hear from everybody! Thanks a million for the encouragement. It's just been so much longer than I expected. And I'm glad to know I don't have the only toe-licker. Granted, they are in easy reach for her. I admit, I like it, too. I like those sandpaper kisses anyway I can get them. (and here's a huge secret...I love baby kitten breath...)

Posted 3 years ago by lisaeylau #

  9. R&R went through the worm hole last night for a quick visit (Ruggles said you were low on biscotti, and Rotley insisted on bringing CJ some "Baby Kitten Breath Mints" and three catnip mice.)

Hope you didn't find too much fur on your pillow!

Posted 3 years ago by Emma #

  10. There's no such thing as too much fur on my pillow! I knew something (someone? someones?) was (were?) afoot since I slept so well, so long, and woke much refreshed!

I'm worried that my ferals aren't coming to be fed. I see them playing down the greenbelt in front of another patio, though, so I assume someone else is feeding them. They're still so skinny! That rat-bast--d raccoon has been coming and eating their food since I can't stay outside and beat pots and pans to run him off.

The antibiotics I've been having for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight snack are finally wreaking havok on me. I knew it was only a matter of time before they made me sick and this afternoon they got me. But today was the last of them, also. Thursday I go see if my white count is down.

This is one of those Gordian knots where an infection in my sinuses went silently creeping to my lungs, which dropped my oxygen saturation, which made me weak and made my heart race trying to keep up, Since I have tachycardia anyway, I ignored it all. Straight out of an episode of House. Speaking of which, is Hugh Laurie available for purchase, rent or just to borrow for a while? Purrrrrrrrr. I just know he's a cat person.

Posted 3 years ago by lisaeylau #

  11. Oooh, I love House! I bet he is a cat person. Love his British accent and those blue eyes of his! Yowl!

Posted 3 years ago by SylMiaFelixsMomma #

  12. I think he used to be in a British prime time series, also. I bet MCW would know.

Can you see House with an ardent dog scrabbling for his attention? No way. I *can* see him carrying a sly meezer like my Jazz on his shoulder.

Oh, God, I clearly don't have enough to do. My imagination is out of control.

Posted 3 years ago by lisaeylau #

  13. I love House and Hugh Laurie!! He used to be in a show in England called Black Adder.

Lisa, I hope you feel better soon. I must admit I am worried.

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  14. Does anyone remember the Wodehouse series about Jeeves and Bertie Wooster? He absolutely had me at "Wot!"

You are in my prayers, Lisa. I'm so sorry you're going through this crud. Please know you are not alone in all this!

Posted 3 years ago by Emma #

  15. CM and Emma, I will confess I'm scared, too. There are too many things all twisted up into this for it to be an easy out. And I kinda knew that. Which is why I tapped the power of denial to get me this far. I don't want to bore you with all of it.

But! I absolutely promise I am staying low, eating almost right, seeing a fantastic allergist/immunologist and a cardiologist/electrophysiologist team that I have total faith in. I'm not pushing back on them too much, or being (very) pig headed.

I've taken all my medicine. I haven't been out in the heat except to zip to the office and back to see only my worst clients. I turned over the rest to other therapists. I did 2 night groups, but by 7 he temperature is down. The apt. complex even sent someone to pick up my trash!

I'm letting the little things go--I'm a neat freak and I've finally said the hell-with-it, I'll pick it all up later.

Does that make you feel any better? I hope so. I really don't want to worry you--or my mom-any more than necessary.

But, I hate to say this... I do need encouragement. Like I said, I really am scared. I have major sensitivities to antibiotics--and an infection is the root cause of all this. The stuff I just finished was my fourth round and last option. If this didn't get it, I'm kinda screwed.

I dream every night that the vet comes in and looks at Bob and says, "Oh, this is nothing. Some antibiotics, a few stitches, and he'll be good as new." I need him now so badly.

Okay, now I'm starting to whine and that's counterproductive. You guys are the BEST!!!!!

Posted 3 years ago by lisaeylau #

  16. Oh Lisa, I don't blame you for being scared. However it's good that you are taking care of yourself, letting things go and relaxing a bit. You can get better, believe in yourself! Your kitties wouldn't know what to do without you :) If you are dreaming about Bob, then that means he is watching over you. He is there for you at least in spirit. Even though we have never met, except online, we are here for you as well. If I lived in Texas, I would be over there to check on you and make sure you are okay then we can hang out and have a good bitch, laugh, cry session!! All the girly things to do.
I pray that your infection and all this crud in your body clears up and you are yourself again. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Just keep us updated when you can. You can always vent, whine, cry, laugh or anything with us online, we are a little family and you are a part of it!!!

  17. Big hugs Lisa! Try to relax and ease your mind a bit and give your immune system a boost. Stress really beats down the immune system.

Posted 3 years ago by Buttercup #

  18. You know Bob is watching over you. He didn't really leave you, he just couldn't stay in his body any longer. He put a little part of himself in your other kitties and left the biggest part in your heart.

Posted 3 years ago by CheetahBoysmommy #

  19. I think I hear Bob at the window some nights, too, but its always Trixie, his girlfriend. I think she really misses him, too. Her mom dropped off 4 kits with her and they're older than hers were...I feed them, but they're still nursing on her....she's much too thin. I've been giving her vitamins, too.

Misty is snoring out loud! Bob used to do that. It feels like a little gift from him. I hate to wake her, but it's time for bed and I like to have her with me. If I don't pick her up and carry her to bed, she'll just stay in her chair all night.

Wow! the snores are getting long and hilarious! Wish I could record them! I know this computer can do it. I'll figure it out soon so you can hear it. It's cracking me up.

Thank you for being here for us. I just took my pulse and its 115--bad since I'm lounging. Manana ladies! Purrrrrrs and trillllls from my gang!

Posted 3 years ago by lisaeylau #

  20. *Two kitties sneak in through the wormhole. The first one, a solid black purr baby looks around for her friend then makes her way over to Lisa, being careful not to bother CJ and Misty. The second kitty, a black and grey tabby named Mamma Kitty follows Shiva and both kitties find a place to snuggle without waking Lisa. Gentle, relaxing, healing purrs fill the room as the kitties wish and pray with all their might that Lisa will be well soon*

  21. Very sweet owlwatcher.
I would send my crew, but the only one who wouldn't go into wild antics would be Bitsy, and I just can't loan him out....... Not yet, anyway.

Sending positive healing energy to you, lisa

  22. Hi Lisa, have they checked your thyroid level yet? If your thyroid is overactive it would increase your pulse. It's just a thought.

Posted 3 years ago by Buttercup #

  23. Positive thoughts your way Lisa. We are all with you even if we are not there physically. Don't worry about whining. We are here if you need us. Hugs and purrs to you. Sylvester would be a good companion for you and he loves his belly rubs. Sending him through the wormhole for a visit tonight.

Posted 3 years ago by SylMiaFelixsMomma #

  24. lisaeylau, sure hope that you get to feeling up to par soon my friend. For the mama kitty, try crushing up a l-lysine tablet and put it in her food too, it just helps with the immune system. I put it in the wet food for the ferals I feed to help them, I use a 500mg tablet...

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  25. Buttercup, you are a smart cookie! That's the other slice of this mystery pie, I just didn't mention it b/c the story was getting too long already. I do have to watch my TSH level, I take thyroid replacement, and my levels jump around a little. But right now it's dead level, so, at least this time, that's not a factor.

AZD, do you get this supplement at Petco/Petsmart or just the regular Walgreens kind of place? I'm very worried about her. The kits are lean, too, but they're kinda at that long, teenage age.

    Misty is *snoring* again!!!

OW, thanks you for sending your crew. I know exactly when they left this morning, because CJ gets very excited when company arrives and leaves. About 6 I was dead asleep and she came flying at me, all four feet outstretched, KA-BOOM! Across the bed, PLOP, onto the pillow next to me, bright eyed, cotton-tail going side-to-side like a puppy, ready for action. Or breakfast. Shiva is a love-monkey.

Looking forward to having Sylvester tonight. Doesn't he have a Tweety to come with him?

Ooops, almost forgot the important part! I'd rather talk about cats....

I got a magic work-in today at the allergist. My white count is NORMAL!!! YAY! So no more yucky antibiotics for now. My lung function improved about five percent--which doesn't sound like much but it's the right direction and that's all I can ask for!!

Thank you everyone for the prayers and healing white light. I swear I an tell the difference when you're all plugged in.

Manana, sweet friends, I'm just totally out of gas for today, despite a two-hour nap after the doctor.

Sweet dreams and loud long purrs....Lisa

  26. I will be at Mass tomorrow praying for you, Lisa, and for everyone else here who needs prayers.

Ruggles is coming through the worm hole in a few minutes -- he said that he HAD to check on you and kiss you goodnight, and now Rotley is insisting that he needs to check your meds with CJ, and he has an extra catnip toy for Misty.

And please don't worry, dear. Rest and dream, in perfect peace. My cats will watch through the night.

    Love,
    Emma

Posted 3 years ago by Emma #

  27. I'm glad your white count is down Lisa, that's excellent! Prayers and healing white light continue.......

Posted 3 years ago by Buttercup #

  28. I just love Ruggles. My heart has such a tender place for blackies.

And another tender place for tuxes, and then another one for tabbies, and meezers, and bobtails of all varieties, and ragdolls, and torties, and caliies, and anything abandoned or hurt. I think I just described every one of us.

Oh, and don't forget the orangies with pink noses.

I know I'm up at an odd hour, but it's because I did something healing today, it being Saturday....I just kept sleeping and kept sleeping.

(okay now I'll confirm your suspicions that I'm a little nutty in a cat-lady kinda way) I honestly felt the presence of loving little souls, and they were telling me, "It's ok, the world doesn't need you today. Everything will be fine, roll over and go back to sleep."

Even my dreams blended in with this message. My dreams were all pleasant, but not spectacular. I have a recurring dream that I'm trying on makeup and perfume with my friends, and that's a fun, quiet dream, without being earth-shattering. So even though I woke up several times, I drifted right back to sleep again. And I slept 16 solid, restful hours!!! Can you believe??? I haven't slept for than 3-4 hours at a stretch since I was about 29 or 30!!! Oh the rest was blissful! And I think when I do go to bed tonight, I'm going to be able to do it again. I think I must finally be getting enough oxygen when I sleep.

Okay, that's the report for today. I know it's too late to request kitty visitors, but CJ and Misty really enjoy the company, and would even like to come over to your house, if anybody's up for them. Probably it's really only CJ that would come. Misty reminds me so much of the elder oyster in The Walrus and the Carpenter. She shakes her heavy head, as if to say she'd rather not leave the oyster bed. But CJ's game for anything!!!

Now must go to other post to request prayer and white light for some important people in my life who have lost longtime pet babies, or are on the verge of doing so. Love!

Posted 3 years ago by lisaeylau #

  29. lisaeylau, glad to see that you finally got some good rest :)

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  30. AZDEBRA, thank you! It was soooo healing. I remember being about to do that in high school....you know....where even if you wake up, you can roll over and be asleep again in seconds?

Of course one entity didn't care for this too much. CJ the Wonder Kitten had to actually open her own package of Greenies, there was nobody to throw them for her--and they're no fun just eaten off the floor. Bad Mom.
