Thank you all for the great replies--you're all very welcoming! I started a Catster page but I'm far from finished! I was just able to get Zoey's picture up before I had to go. The picture on my profile is my youngest, Piper.
Here’s an introduction to my brood!
Zoey, my oldest—an ASH tabby w/ a lot of white on her bib, is a sweet kitty who INSISTS on being petted whenever she's not napping! She's a talker and lately has been telling me all about her days.
Rushy is a brown, black, and orange ALH tabby and is Maggy's littermate and he trills instead of a regular meow. He's very lovable, smart, & curious. He loves to be cradled like a baby and have his belly rubbed. He sleeps between my husband and my pillows at night and occasionally nips my eyebrows for the fun of it. His favorite pastime is watching the printer spit out pages!
Maggy, my shorthaired tuxedo, is Rushy's sibling. She is very lovable too—but hates to be held. She's extremely talkative and if I come in to bed later than she thinks is acceptable she scolds me. She sleeps on 1/2 of my pillow at night and doesn't mind if my head ends up 1/2 on her.
Duke is also a brown/black ASH tabby. He rarely meows but he’s VERY insistent about being loved up. He loves to be cradled. He also loves canned food and gets crabby if it’s not opened on time. There’s always a bowl of dry food for them—but wet food is his favorite. He tends to bully the other cats especially if the wet food is a moment late. He’s sitting on me right now—nose to nose with me. I have to dodge my head around to see the screen.
Jack is a pure white ASH with yellow eyes. He’s an under-the-covers lover kind of guy. He loves to curl up at my feet at bed and nap time. He insists on loving too—but don’t touch his stomach! If I say “belly-boy,” he puts his ears back because he knows I just might rub his tummy. He LOVES Rushy and will follow him around and try to hold Rushy down to clean him.
Piper is ASH dilute color. I think she’s a tortie, but I’m not sure because she does have some stripes. She’s a big play baby and LOVES to tear apart things and then check to see if we’re watching—she’s the smartest cat I’ve ever parented! She’s very lovable but will turn on a dime. She doesn’t like visitors to the house and if someone points at her, she becomes very angry. She’s a tripod. Her mom and littermates were found in a factory. The factory workers were caring for the litter and one day they noticed one of the kitten’s leg was partially missing. The vet said it was a severed with a sharp instrument but no one could figure out how or when. She ended up with her front right leg amputated up to her shoulder. She gets along fine but sometimes she’s a little clumsy. She sleeps every night between my husband and me down by our legs. She regards our dog as her mom and often sucks on the dog’s curly hair. I told her the other day that I knew, deep down, there was a good kitty inside her!
Riley is our loveable bichon k9. She’s a very good girl and a big couch potato. She likes to chase cats but ours don’t often comply. Duke bullies her—especially if the wet food isn’t out!
Oh--PS to those of you that live in or near Ohio. I live about 1/2 hour west of Cleveland.
Also--all of our cats with the exception of Zoey love to play fetch.
