Im just so happy guys!!! He’s munching away on a treat now i don’t need to give him mega C plus or Anymore but I’ll ask still keep him on L-lysine and D Mannose to keep him in absolute prime health i plan to make sure my Buttons has a very long happy life. He’s going in for his jabs on Friday.. And better news again the vet says even though Nutini was living in his pocket she won’t have been exposed to the virus as it was the antibodies that made him test positive and the vitamins and amino acids i had him on helped him clear them from his system…..

The vet was pretty surprised herself after she gave me the good news she told me she was sure he would have tested positive for FeLV again as he was nearly the year when he tested positive first… She is now going to recommend the same course of vitamins and amino acids I have been given button for a few other cases to see if it was a once off or It actually clears the virus from a cats system..

Buttons little FeLV scare must of happened for a reason because now other cats/kittens could benefit from my research.. Here in Ireland a vet will immediately recommend putting a cat to sleep when they test positive now my vet can give people an alternative option and save and improve cats lives.

I still have a massive smile on my face. My bf just spent the last hour hugging him 🙂

We have to think carefully about the vaccination now.. From what I have read the leukemia vaccination is normally recommended to inject in the leg because of the risks of cancer developing in the injection site so they inject the leg incase a leg needs to be amputated if cancer developed. So if that risk is still there with the new vaccinations then we have to choose which leg carefully because of Buttons preexisting disability. We decided the front right leg will be best its one of his bad legs and he uses it the least amount.

Its.so nice to he able to plan ahead for him now… I’ve started crying again now cause its sinking in that we are gona have him around for a long time i don’t have to worry about trying to get him to 3..

Is buttons going to be an indoor/outdoor cat? I ask because the Leukemia vaccine isn’t considered necessary for indoor cats. And it is one of the ones most associated with injection site tumors. Rabies is usually done in the leg for the same reason.

He will always be an indoor only cat because of his disability but i will vaccinate still because he has access to my outdoor cats that come inside 2 or 3times a day and i generally only vaccinate my outdoor cats for the cat flu its a money issue really and even though i love them dearly they are outdoor hunters and Im a bit more realistic about their life expectancy.. Does that sound horrible?? Anyway so if he has contact with my outdoor fellas i wana make sure he’s always safe

Its just I’ve gotten so attached to Buttons we live in each others pockets and i even spend more time with Buttons than i do with anyone else that’s even including my Bf .Buttons really does feel like my child I’ve done more for him than people i know have done for their kids! Im prepared to do anything to keep him happy and safe. We’re gona buy a loc8tor next just incase he ever gets out of the mobile.
