   Hi All,

   When it rains, it pours. My brother in NJ went to the emergency room last night and is about to head into surgery to repair a hernia. He has had this for over a year, but due to job issues and health insurance issues had to keep putting off dealing with it. Please pray that the simple repair is all that is needed and nothing more extensive. He has already lost 1/3 of his colon to...I forget the name of what he had. It's when pockets form in the intestines and get infected. Anyway, prayers and white light much appreciated!

   Oh CW, I am so sorry that you have so much on your plate right now. I will indeed pray for your brother and for you and the rest of the family. White light being sent his way also. I think you mean diverticulosis (my honey has diverticulitis--meaning he has the pockets, but no infection!)

   That's diverticulitis....could also be colitis. My husband had a foot of his colon removed just a little over a year ago. Here's hoping for the best for your bro.

    My brother is quite the character. After having his last operation, he asked me what my favorite punctuation mark was, and that his was the "semi colon."

    His hernia actually stuck out from his stomach, which he delighted in showing off. It looked like something out of Alien! He drew a face on it as a joke!

    He is 5 years younger than me, SMM. He is in recovery now. They found FIVE hernias they had to close with some kind of mesh, and more diverticulitis.
