Tuesday 10/2 Night Shift!

Hello Neenie.
I had a great day. My cousins from southern Pa. came up to see me. It was the first time we met. They treated me to Subway for lunch, then we went to the park and took a walk and talked about our family. Then to get a drink at McDonalds cause the husband had to take pills for his bad back. Then we went over and got ice cream and sat outside to eat it. It was a lovely day weather wise too. I made cornbread, a lemon meringue pie, and will make lentil soup next.
Three deer were in the grass next to the house this morning, and when I moved bu the door, they saw me and ran. I didn't know they were there until it was too late. Awww... I felt bad I disturbed them. Their coloring is getting more of a dull, darker brown. -
My day was busybusybusy! Got to the shop at 5 (yes, a.m.!) so the guys could start work. Body shop business picks up drastically when the deer are in rut (nasty thought, but that's the way it is when the deer are so active and crossing the roads so much). Left there at 5 and came home and collapsed.
Bumblebee, that sounds like a lovely wonderful day. I envy you. :)

Well, the story goes.....
I had an Aunt in Pa. that my mom wrote to years ago. She would send me cards and money, etc. I still have a few of her letters. One card is glued in my card album. She had 3 daughters. My mom also kept in contact with her middle daughter and they wrote for years. When my mom died, I continued to write to these people, and other friends of my moms until they also passed away. Anyway when the middle daughter passed away, her younger sister wrote to tell me and asked if I would keep in touch with her, and I did. Then she became sick and moved in with her daughter, Kathy. When she passed, Kathy said she would love to keep in contact with me also, and we do. She is the one I met today. There isn't much family left. Kathy never had kids. Kathy's mom died sooner than they thought and I had planned to meet her in the warmer weather. I did talk to her once and twice, but we wrote to each other quite often. What a dear lady. She saved madonnas and wanted my daughter to have them (I guess they are cards? Haven't looked at them yet.) She had wanted to look up where they are from. -

Ok, I think it was my mom's dad's sister, so that would make her my great aunt. Anyway, Kathy who I met today is her granddaughter. I am a granddaughter to my mom's dad so we are equal down the line. So maybe Kathy and I are second cousins? It is confusing isn't it??

I'm supposed to be using my computer to look at maps for my homework but I can't keep myself away from this place.
Difficult to do homework when I am in front of a computer.

*looks over at the meowing cat that has just entered her room... gets up and picks the soft, purring, cuddly kitty and brings her over to sit with her in front of the computer*
I would like to introduce you all to my Mamma Kitty.
*holds the soft, slightly overweight, purring, black and grey tabby cat up so everyone can "see" her and giggles as the sweet kitty-brat turns to lick her nose*
Mamma kitty loves to sleep on the floor in here when my other cat, Shiva, isn't in here

Hi Everyone! It's a nice night. I wish I had deer in my yard,everywhere has it's beauties. I have great white herons,wood storks and sandhill cranes sometimes in the canals behind my house.Egrets and Ibis(es?) are all around. My mom has noted that the Ibis are always an odd number and she's right.
I just had my second day of orientation at my new job. I think I'm going to like it very much. I may be snoozing soon... I'm not used to getting up early. That's going to change. I suppose I should look for something decent to eat. I wish that I cooked,I might decide to someday. But I digress.... -

Marsha, all the birds sound wonderful. I've seen great blue herons here and green herons, and saw a white something one day on the lake. Haven't looked it up yet. Don't know what a wood stork is? But, am familiar with the other ones you mentioned. That is really cool to be abe to see all of that. :) Glad you think you'll like your new job. I sure hope so!

I don't cook much anymore.
