  1. We're trying to decide whether to go to Disney's California Adventure Park for the first time or do Disneyland for the umpteenth time (last went in 2006). Is a 10 year old and her parents with "It's A Small World burnout" going to enjoy the other park?

  2. Knotts Berry Farm is where I wanted to go as a kid and my parents drug me to Disney...Boring! Not enough excitement for me. I know you will have family fun time whereever you end up!

  3. I've not been to Disney's California Adventure Park, KK. Have you been to Sea World? We had a blast with our kids when we went there.

  4. KYKAT - we're doing Knotts also! Staying at the hotel there but we have a day where we can either do more Knotts or go to D-land.

  5. Hi KW! My appointment went well yesterday - I have only a 1% chance of having a cardiac event in the next 5 years! Well, at least until I get on a roller coaster. (or road trip with you!)

  6. I am a very responsible driver, KK! My Cardiopulminary Resuscitation card has expired, so no heart attacks allowed!! LOL

  7. KW - it will depend on whether you listen to my navigating or not!

  9. I vote for CA Adventure Park. Not that I know anyone who's been, but if you were at Dland in 2006, I doubt much will have changed. I have heard the Tower of Terror is cool and there is a wine place, but how exciting for a 10 yr old, I don't know...research?

  10. Hi linda - we have looked at the website and miniKK is enthusiastic and someone else recommended Tower of Terror and Soaring over California. But it is a lot of money to spend if we're not sure we'll enjoy it. Particularly as we will have done Knotts the day before.

  11. Isn't Dland alot also? Especially if you've done it alot. Would you do just a day at the beach instead? Medieval Times Restaurant is close to Knotts and while it's not cheap either, it's kind of a cool dinner thing...jousting, eating with your hands. I haven't been for quite a while, but I know it's pretty popular.

  12. Kk I told you about the tower of terror ans soaring over california and don't forget Grizzly Rapids. It is okay their with cute kid stuff and their was a someone's cray ride and a roller coaster (I didn't go on it had to stay with youngerst niece she was not tall enough for the ride! We went of the under sea carousel oh 8 times heehee!) They have a its a bug show that's cool and if the Aladin show is still there it's a must to see!

  13. Skip all that and go to Magic Mountain instead. ;)

  14. Would love to go to Magic Mountain but we aren't renting a car. If we decide against D-land we can go to Knotts Soak City water park as we have passes to both for 3 days.

  15. We went to Disneyland and CA Adventure recently (my daughter's brother-in-law gets free passes). I wasn't very impressed. It seemed more like an amusement park or carnival (lots of what we refer to as 'throw-up' rides). There was an awful lot of walking to get from one ride to another. Most of the rides were either too young (really young) or too nauseating to go on.

I live in Orange County, about 25 miles from Dland. If I had to pick one, I would vote for D-land over CA Adventure. But given the choice, Knott's Berry Farm would get my first vote. Dland has some good rides, but you end up standing in line for most of the day.

  16. Disneyland has ways of cutting down for standing in line. Everything has changed in the last year. I found online a way to map out when things are less crowded with shorter lines, they had some kind of pass. I forgot what it was called.

  17. You can register with one ride to come back at a certain time and go straight onto the ride. So, if the ride you are about to line up for has a 2 hour wait, you can register to come back in two hours and go do something else. But, you can only register that way for one ride at a time. They use the bar code on your ticket so you can't register at another ride until your two hours are up.

Winter weekdays are faster but summer vacation is busy everyday.

  18. If your passes include the waterpark at KBF then that would be my choice! Spend the money you would save from not going to Dland and take the family out someplace great for dinner. Some of the big slides at the water parks can be as thrilling as a roller coaster! Hubby and I are doing a water park this weekend as part of his company's summer family picnic!

  19. Just my opinion, but I live close by and California Adventure, I don't believe is worth the money. I'm one of those sappy people and have never tire of "Its a Small World" (although it does get stuck in my head for days) but I would say Knotts Soak City is your best bet..believe me with the heat out here right now!!! you will want to be wet!!!
