  7. Awesome one and all....just remember this does not help with the vet bill. By Email last night she told me that cash was best. I will just hide it inside a card and hope that it is safe. She will have to pay back her live in non-helper.

  8. Yeah, I'm sending out a kitty card today so she can payback him asap..I will look for a siameezer card!!!

    Posted 3 years ago by 2bpurring #

  9. i also sent her a money order wrapped in a piece of paper in a security lined envelope so live in non-helper would not know about it.

the time i sent it was on the same day literally hours before i heard her say she caught Hopper. God definentely hears our prayers and makes things happen !!!

side note - i wrote on the money order "for getting the siameezer and Hopper" and she did !!!

  16. Thank You Cheri...And Thanks to all of you for your support. I'm sorry for not catching this thread till now. All the stress I guess from the cat rescues, relationship problems & the lack of sleep is ,no doubt, affecting me. I thought for sure that I would finally get some desperately needed sleep last night now that Siameezer is fixed. But,it turned out the opposite with zero sleep. I didn't realize the toll it was all taking on me emotionally & physically, but, this morning I'm so fatigued from it all that I'm finding it hard to do anything but lay down, but, then I'm so restless that I can't catch any decent 'down time'.
It seems one good thing happens, then another bad thing follows. I hadn't had time to mention it,but, Buddy, the 16 yr.old feral, was beat up by Hopper a couple of days before I caught Hopper. When I saw a problem w/Buddy's eye,I thought it was just a scratch from the fight. I've been keeping triple antibiotics in it for a good week & a half, but,it's not healing. It's looking like he's got a foxtail jammed under his eyelid now. If it were anything else, anywhere else on his body,I'd let it go,but because it involves the eye & because of his age,I have to find a way to work him into the vet to have it removed. He's fighting me even putting meds in it because it hurts him so much.

*think I'll just shake my head back & forth in disbelief*

  17. Oh no Susie some days you just can't seem to catch a break!

  18. Take a deep breath Susie, take him to the vet. Hopefully the donations for Siameezer are covered and there is some extra to cover what hopefully would be a small visit, and be done with this. Try not to stress (I' know , easier said than done...), but this is just a small bump in the road...march on girl, you are not alone. I'm going out of town for a few days but you will be in my prayers.

  19. I probably will have to take him in. I'm almost certain it's a foxtail. There's a point about a half-inch from his eye that looks like a possible foxtail wanting to work thru the skin. I'm keeping close watch on it for now. Right now,I'm alittle concerned with Siameezer. I haven't been able to get her to eat anything, which means, she hasn't eaten since Wednesday morn. when I trapped her.
I think what I'm going to do is put the cage out back where she's familiar w/the surroundings & she'll be able to see Naughtyboy & Prettygirl. Altho Prettygirl isn't cooperating either. She took off scared after trapping mama & I saw her late last night on the neighbor's roof, but, she won't come home to eat. Maybe if she see's mama out there, she'll come home.
In the meantime,I'm going to call the vet shortly & see what they think. I don't need her to end up sick after all the work put into her.

  20. Susie, is Siameezer drinking OK? I'm thinking she is probably just really upset. I've had cats refuse to eat when they are unhappy - and you KNOW how stubborn she is! Also, she is smart, and look what happened to her the last time she ate something (she got trapped). She might be thinking something else bad will happen to her. Poor girl, I'm really glad her constant cycle of being pregnant is finally over.

  21. I sent an envelope today. It's not much but it should help with Siameezer and/or Buddy.

  22. I can't believe how wonderful you all are!! Wouldn't it be great if all us TDKers had our own little neighborhood & could actually see & HUG each other every day? I'd probably have to be pryed off of you all. lol.

NNGM...I haven't even seen her drink water. I'm really concerned because we've got triple-digit weather here.

I might even have to bring her in the house,it's so hot out there. As it is, right now I've got Lacy J & Winnie in one room..Hannah May in another (she doesn't like any other females & fights w/them). Then I have Misty,Spunky & Rusty in one room together. I've got Hopper in his cage out in the main part of the house. Binky, our 14 yr.old is the only one not locked up because he's too old to care about anything going on around him,so he's the good boy of the bunch. I play musical cats every day so they all get out for exercise.

If I bring Siameezer inside,I'll have to keep the rest of the bunch locked up or they'll stress her out.

  23. LOL @ Binky and his non-concern.

Posted 3 years ago by HuddysMama #

  24. Susie, she might just be getting back to her normal self and is p*ssed that she is still in a cage. Bringing her in might be a good idea if it is really that hot out there. No worries, in a couple of days, all will be back to normal. I'm just so glad you were able to do all that you have done. {{{hugs}}} for you Susie. Keep on keepin on honey, we are all right there with you.

  25. I had one of mine not eat for about 3 days after I took her to be spayed but she would sneak in and drink some water. She was really mad at me but she got over it. This was a few years ago. Now, she is so sweet and lovable.

  26. I'm with Huddy's Mama...LOL! Binky Rules The Roost without even trying! Susie your posts so often bring me to frown, weep, smile and laugh out loud!! You're something else girl! I Love You!

  27. Man...we are getting the most uncomfortable, unhealthy heat right now!!! It's 104 degrees in the shade on our frontporch right now. I had to bring Siameezer ( I swear I'm going to change her name to Ms. Hissy ) indoors. It's much cooler, but, she still is not cooperating. No food or water intake. She's definately back to her scary self tho.
With the cage semi-uncovered,she's moving around more, which I'm thinking is a good thing. But,I'm wondering if having it uncovered is what's keeping her from drinking or eating? The last thing I want to do is to have to take her back to the vets for hydration. It would just tramatize her even more.
What do you guys think? I know cats don't like water, but,I was thinking of taking a bottle of water & spraying her with it. That way she would then lick the water off herself & at least get hydrated. Would that be too drastic?

Posted 3 years ago by feral #

  28. You could try that, or put her into a spot where she isn't in the center of traffic and maybe she will drink and/or eat when you aren't looking. Maybe tuna water with her wet food or something to keep her hydrated, just thoughts...yeah she probably isn't in a really friendly mood because she is in a cage, had surgery, in a cage, ticked that you actually caught her, etc.....and probably giving you the 'stink eye' all the time right now to scare you.

Posted 3 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  29. AZDEB...She basically is off to one corner of the room. I have only the front of the cage uncovered so when she gets up to look out,she sees me & I can talk soft to her while she's looking around. Even with fans going she is panting from the heat. I've had a whole lot of cats spayed & neutered in my lifetime & not one time have I had a problem with after affects. Then, the most important cat on earth gets spayed & now I have this going on. I don't know whether to swear or cry.

  30. ice in front of the fan? ice in a bag on top of the cage? if you took off the covering, would it be cooler so more air could circulate? You can do both if it will help! Best wishes, Susie
