   Hiya!

   I am so relieved now and just want to let everyone know that she is fine. We just came back from the vet, did two chest x-rays and the vet says she is in tip top shape. The only thing is that she breathes faster than regular cats and it just how she is. From the x-ray, it appears that her heart is a little bit enlarged on the left side, since it is sticking out more than her right side. But the vet assured me that if Lucy Belle is not exhibiting any signs of pain, it is just not something that we should be too worried about.

   Really feel so much better now. She has gained some weight too since her last visit and her appetite is growing. That's why the vet said that she is actually doing very well. I guess, I am really a worry wort.

   I think she is really something else. Her bladder is smaller than other cats, she breathes faster than other cats and even her heart shape is uneven.

   lisaeylau : I spoke to the receptionist and asked why Lucy Belle's record was not available when you called. She didn't know anything about it and said that even if someone were to call and ask, she and other staffs are not at the liberty to discuss patients record. I didn't pursue further but just to let you know.

    The person who answered was probably just trying to get rid of me. Although I did call the right place, I know that for sure. All that matters is that your furbaby is FANTASTIC! I watched her video, and that's just summertime kitty breathing.

    Okay, Tuttibelle, I clicked on the link to your blog and found out you are a nurse! One of the most noble professions in the world!!! In you're heart, you are a *healer.* You don't need me to tell you...you can make your baby Belle sick by assigning illnesses to her that she doesn't have.

    You were so smart to take it seriously when she had the problem after her spaying. But she's a healthy girl now. Love it! Enjoy it! If Lucy Belle doesn't show signs of actual distress, pain, vomiting, diarrhea that is dehydrating, hiding or running from you, the assume the best and love the kitty!!! She will love you back like you've never been loved before!!!!

    lisaeylau : Thanks for the reassurance. And uhm..a nurse is truly a noble profession but I am not a nurse. :) Can you tell me where did you see that in my blog? So so strange. I am a copy writer and I can't really compare myself to a nurse ... my job is to make a product appear better in print that what it is in reality. Just like Elaine who is a copywriter for the J. Peterman catalog in Seinfield.

    Glad to hear Lucy Belle had a clean bill of health. You are such a good mama. It is funny, I think we all feel like she is "our" kitten too because you introduced her to us right from the start. I've never known anyone who handraised a kitten so for me it was really interesting following the Lucy Belle saga. Now she is growing into a healthy beautiful girl.

    BTW I always loved the J. Peterman bits. Do you write ads in your head for things you see every day?

    NNGM : Ha, no, thankfully, I am able to separate my job from my daily life. Else, my friends will not want to hang around me much. But I do have some quirky behaviors that is related to my job. When I explain certain things, I tend to be over the top sometimes. :)

    Glad to hear Lucy Belle is doing so well from her recent vet visit. And he gave her a smooch too!!! How is his campaign to "raise awareness that cats shouldn't be treated as second class citizens of the pet world" going?? Any new updates, or especially photos you'd like to share??? ;)

    I'm so embarrassed. Buttercup is an RN. I'm looking at everyone's Catster page, trying to learn what cat goes with what person. EEEEEKKKK!!

    I was a copywriter also before I became a therapist. I still take projects when they're the right kind, something I can work around my client schedule, usually speeches and/or ghostwritten articles. I've been doing it for 20 years, so at this point, I've kind of written everything from books to ad copy. A writing call girl, so to speak. I got seriously burned and burned out in the dot com crash in 1998-1999, and decided it was time to chase an old dream. That's when I did the graduate school thing, and I loved it!!!

    Now I'm looking for ways to combine the two--writing about mental health, psychopharmacology, etc. I have a three-part series ready for the Austin Business Journal on mental health issues in the workplace. I'll let you know when it runs.
