  1. These boards are awesome, I'll defiantly be sticking around (Which is why I created a new account - Kokee doesn't even make much sense, I just thought everything else would be taken, but if I can use just Kristin - why not!)

  3. Nice to meet you, Kristin! Your profile says you are a photographer (which probably explains the gorgeous photo of Bizzy on her Catster page). What kind of work do you do with your photography? My next door neighbor is a professional photographer. I am just amazed at his photos. (Jealous too!!) lol

  4. I do a little bit of everything, I'm still in school, so I haven't taken to one type yet - and I only got my professional camera not too long ago, so I'm still trying to figure out all the bells n' whistles lol

  5. Kristin, it's likely that Bizzy's digestive system is all discombobulated from the various things she's gotten into. She may or may not be reacting to something in the Whiskas, but it's hard to tell.

It might be best to consider putting her onto one food, a high-quality kitten food. Can you get a small bag of Science Diet kitten or Nutro Max kitten? And then mix it in with her existing food supply, eventually moving over to the new food?

A teaspoon of plain yogurt would be about all the dairy she can safely handle. Much more than that, she probably won't be able to digest. Other foods should also be handled as treats only (no more than a teaspoon, no more than once a day).

Please let us know of Bizzy's progress. Good luck!

  6. Digit and Furl are now on Bizzy's Catster page, Kristin. :)

Several of us are chatting on the Night Shift thread. Please feel free to join in. There is a group who also chat in the mornings on the TDK Cafe thread. A new thread for the Night Shift and the TDK Cafe is started by someone each day.

  7. I'm gonna give it until tomorrow, and if she's ok, I'm just going to watch her closely and make sure she stays away from all human food, but if she's still throwing up in the morning, I'm going to take her to the vet right away.

I'll keep you guys posted :)

  8. Thanks, Kristin. We worry about the little ones when they aren't doing well. I'm sure she will be fine, but it is good to keep a close eye on her.

  11. That is one striking coat! I hope that is Bizzy's true coat and not a stress coat. Still she will be a stunner as a pure black beauty as well.

    Welcome to TDK

  18. I think she's doing better - she threw up early this morning (food only), but her poop is pretty well solid. I got her the good food - hard and soft and I'm slowly integrating the new food into the old , but she seems to only lick the gravy off the soft. I read in a Kitten Book today, that because she's young it'd be best to mix a little bit of water in - make it kind of like gruel, is that a good idea?

She is going CRAZY over the gravy. The little label is still on the floor, and she's going bananas!
I'm also going to get some KMR just in case she still needs it.

  19. Yes, softening up the food for her would be a good idea. It'll make it easier for her to eat, and it will get some extra water into her. If her stomach is still upset, it's important to keep her hydrated. When you take her to the vet, the doctor can give you advice on feeding her.

If she throws up again, Kristin, I think it would be a good idea to call the vet, especially with the weekend coming up when the office will be closed.

  20. That's the plan, if she throws up once more before tomorrow, I'm taking her in asap.

  24. Kristin, welcome to TDK! Bizzy is absolutely adorable! Most of us can tell you that if kittens get sick, it usually on a weekend. So if she is still vomiting, I'd take her in tomorrow. Never hurts to be on the safe side and kittens can dehydrate so quickly.

My girls send an invite to play!

  28. My two boys like wet food. The two girls just couldn't be bothered with it. Since one boy is still a baby, I put a little warm water in the wet food and mash it up real good with a fork. I mush it up until it's all one consistency.

Both Cheetah Boy and Sneakers go bats for it. If I don't get it quite wet enough, they leave the firmer stuff behind and meow until I add a little more water and mash it up. I started that when Sneakers was too small to eat canned food if it wasn't mashed. I suspect I'm going to be stuck doing it forever since neither of them want the unmashed food anymore.
