Trolls will come and go and the length of their visits will be in proportion to the attention they garner.
Most people sincerely want help with a new kitten. If the person posting is sincere they will stick around and join the group as tuttibella did.
The troll that puts out the sick kitten bait should only garner an opening offering of the sound advice we give to anyone asking for help or advice for taking care of a wee one. A troll will tire of the game and more quickly if they are simply given advice and asked to report back with progress reports. If they try more and more sensational reports of the dire straits of the baby, it is our clue to lose interest in the thread and concentrate on the sincere membership.
The flaming troll will make obvious overtures to garner a hot response. Making out outrageous statements or being directly insulting, they hope you will become increasingly irate in responding.
The trolls of either ilk will even gain satisfaction from having their handles mentioned. It is better not to name names or quote them in discussions even such as this one.
I know it is difficult. However, trust that even when you express your exasperation in the most general of terms, name no names and we will know of whom you speak.
