I haven't been around for the past 8 months. It has been hectic. Husband retired. Bought a new house, new job, and a whirlwind that is life. I have noticed several TDK members have met and that is amazing. It has been a little over a year since Sox died. A student brought me a box and in it a little tuxedoed kitten. He was about 10 days old with no mom. I said I'd nurse him and find an adoptive family. In about an hour I got his sibling found in the insilation. I nursed them and the little black kitten was adopted at 6 weeks and is in a great home. He is no longer know as Berloiz but Nike. As for the tuxedo--seems Sox sent me another tuxie to love. He (Deuteronomy) turned out to be a she (Deuter Bug). You know KM you have created quite the community here. It is amazing to see so many closer than ever. I sure have missed a lot. I have checked in a few times. With summer vacation it is easier. So many in my thought.

Hi, SM!!! How wonderful that you have a kitten - love the name but I am a sucker for Cats. My Bombalurina and Skimbleshanks were pure joy to me and I miss them both so much.
I sure hope that we'll see more of you! Where in NM are you living? I used to live in Farmington. Loved it!

WB SoxsMom, wow you have had a whirlwind of a time these last few months. Good to see that you have a new member to your household and love the name :) Is your hubby enjoying the life of leisure as being a retired man? Do you like your new job and guessing that you love your new home.

Thanks. It is an adjustment to leave the military after all these years. Shoot my animals have their own frequent flyer miles! I think they will like to be settled. Was scary with Basil--Sox infected him before he died. So far it has been a year and he is symptom free. Hope to keep Deuter that way. The FeLv group has given me great advice about having a mixed group. Teaser is still healthy--sometimes vaccines work.

Oh yeah military retirement can be a change, a good one though. Ok until it gets to that 3 year point and your brain keeps going, when are we moving, huh huh, when are we moving?? I have been retired since '92 and I still get the twinges of is it time yet, lol. Poor Basil, sorry that he got infected too...good that Teaser is healthy and that you are taking care with having the mixed group.

We were military and moving was the only way that I knew how to clean out the closets.....

Hi Sox Mom!! I don't know you, being new joining last July-ish. Glad you have a tuxie to love. I am looking forward to getting to know you. I met some of the TDKers in the Florida meet in April. We are a great bunch, I must say.

lol Susie I know I have a couple here too, plus the kids' stuffed animals and their things that they couldn't 'bear' to give away.

We stayed in Clovis. We had been stationed here for so long and I teach and love the school. I just changed to a new age group this past year. My hubby was hired before he finished terminal leave. He is already traveling with this company. Thought when he got out I would see him more--think I see him less. I am a workaholic though. I worked with a home bound student too this year so I wasn't home much. I didn't think I would ever want a new kitten around. Basil is my daughter's big boy, Teaser is joined as my husband's hip, and Sox was my best bud. To have another tuxie try and fill his shoes was a daunting task. She is ADHD and moose in a china shop and she has stolen my heart!

Glad you are back, and with a new kitten--thanks for saving them!

There are some that I haven't seen a post from as I try to catch up--an impossible task! rainingwolf, FondaHonda, KittenWhisperer, Great Dane, aristabobbi, instinct, intuition, bumblebee, and a few others. I see HM post to almost every kitty in the morning. Hope everyone is well--Ange are you there too?

Ange is in San Francisco for the weekend, SM. Back tonight, I think. That's her new kitty featured as today's TDK, though!
It's pretty quiet on the weekends, usually.

Welcome back, Sox's Mom--Since I'm due to leave Cat Spring by the end of the summer, I got a new name, but it's the same ol' Ginny.
Your kitty renaming reminds me of a story of a houseguest somewhere commenting on the adorable cat who came to greet the guest. The kid of the house introduced the kitty as "Ben-Hur."
"What an adorable name for a cat!" remarked the guest. "How in the world did you come up with that name?"
"Its name was just 'Ben,'" replied the kid, "until she had kittens."

Austin. Hubby has been working there since December. The kids and I are just waiting for swim season to end. Ladybug just completed the first round of post-season competition today and did VERY well (1st place in the 200 Free Relay, second in the 50 Fly, third in the 100 Free, and fourth in the 200 Medley Relay).
