Gatakitty, your comment about MidSchoolers made me laugh. My very best friend teaches MS Texas History and I can't even remember all the names she has for them. Not to mention all the times she's been attacked. She's only 4' 10".

Nice to see so many familiar names.

Hi SM - how nice to hear from you! I lost both boys; Jiggs January 3 and Shaddo June 9. They were 16 and 17 respectfully. We now have a 3 month old girl by the name of Leela who has been here a week. Trying to get a picture of her for KM. I agree, TDK is quite a family. Welcome back!

For the long time TDKers I am the feline leukimia nut. Vets have you vaccinate but be assured that the felv vaccine does not always work. Sox was 9 month and probably born with it. Basil (multiple vaccinations) contracted the virus at 3 and is 4 with no symptoms. Feline Leukimia is highly contagious, but it isn't a death sentence. Basil isn't allowed around the kitten. I am involved with a felv group and they are dedicated to the felv+ cats that no one want. It is hard because so many die. Ferral populations are frequently felv and fiv positive cats. They pass it to their young. Wish there was a cure but in the meantime with knowledge these cats can make great pets--you just need tissue at time--then again that can happen at any time with cats and humans. 18 year olds are know-it-all-can-handle-anything hormones with feet. Personally I really enjoyed my hormonaly charged feet this past year. Best year ever.

Hi SoxsMom, I remember you! Welcome back! Sorry about Sox but glad for the new kitten. Congrats on the new addition! Sorry about Basil contracting the disease but sounds like he is okay for now. Thinking positive thoughts that it continues that way.

Welcome back, Sox's Mom! Good to have you back. It sure sounds as if you've been busy, but since you're happily busy, that's great!
I've been pretty busy myself, taking on a part-time job in addition to my full-time job. About 5 1/2 months ago, I adopted 6 week-old Milo to keep Bob company. He was sick with a URI and was dehydrated, mal-nourished and had gone to "the spa" way too early. He spent his first three weeks living in my bathroom so Bobby wouldn't get sick. Bob pretty much spent every hour waiting for him right outside the bathroom door. By the time Milo could finally come out to play, both boys were more than ready to be friends. Right now, I leave at 5:15 for work every morning and get home around 6:15 at night, so I'm so glad I decided to adopt Milo to keep Bobby company since I'm gone so much.
You can check the boys out on Catster if you'd like. -
Welcome back to TDK, SoxsMom! We look forward to having you join our chats whenever you have time. So nice that you have another kitten. No cat or kitten ever replaces one you've had, but your heart grows bigger to include another in your life.

No there was no greeting like that for Sox. I found this site the week he died. Renee I have thought of you often and wondered how you were. You were the first person on this site that spoke to me and it was such a hard time losing Sox. I have been able to see some of the threads from the months gone by. I am so glad to see people meeting! Again KM gave a forum for cat lovers and it blossomed into friendship. What about Dee? Has anyone heard from her? Got to miss a great number of people.

Welcome back SoxsMom, I remember talking to you!! I was new here also, joined a couple weeks after you. I too found my way here after a heartbreaking loss. But if you click over to my catster page you will see a couple new additions for me that keep me very busy..Dee is venturing out on her own these days but I'll be happy to let her know you inquired..

HM how are things your way? My hubby was in your neck of the woods not to long ago. Now he is in FL. Get out of military spend time with family--sounded perfect to me! Well he seems to be traveling more! At least at this time he is in the same country and not the land of sand again. By the way he made ribs to die for before this trip with a dry rub--moist almost falling off the bone. Can't bbq without thinking of you HM!

SM things are great, thanks for asking. Your poor husband - it's hotter than hell here right now - lol. Mmmmm ribs. I had those yesterday and brought some leftovers for lunch. Meat is my TDK legacy I guess :)

SoxMom....OMG..I thought I'd posted a comment yesterday yet since it isn't here I'm guessing it was one of my duh moments where I forgot to go down and hit the send post button. A definite senior moment! I'm glad to see you're back and I didn't sign up til last Sept. so I don't even think you'll recognize my name. Happy to see you're here with us again!

Nice to see you posting again, Sox's Mom. I can't wait to see your new baby pictures! Glad that you enjoyed teaching 7th graders--since I teach 7th and 8th grade math, I'll have some of the same kids this upcoming year and can only hope and pray that a few of them do a lot of maturing over the summer! ;) WELCOME BACK!!!
