  1. I am back minus a really sick gall bladder. Last week was not fun. I got really sick and ended up having emergency surgery. I am sore but feel much better than I did last week. I haven't been feeling well but didn't realize that I had a real problem. They told me that if I hadn't gotten in when I did I would have been in serious trouble. The night I got so sick Sophie sat beside me and kept kissing my hand and rubbing it, I thought it was so sweet.

  2. sorry to hear that you were sick...and glad to hear you feel better !!! It's also nice to know that you were/are in good hands with nurse Sophia !!!

  3. Oh, sweetie, I am so glad you're back! Sounds like Nurse Sophie was wonderful to you. And yes, sick gall bladders are no fun whatsoever.

    Good news to know you are on the mend!

  4. Wow,I'm glad you got that over with and are OK. I had that surgery a few years ago and felt so much better afterwards.

  6. Wow, that is scary Sandi! Glad to hear that you are doing better and that your furry nurse, Sophie was there to comfort you. Give her some treats and cuddles. Gentle hugs to you.

  7. Boy, I've been where you were, Sandi, those d**n gall bladders are tricky things. The good news is - recuperation usually is quick and you will feel soooooooooo much better without the pesky thing.

    Try not to laugh for the next few weeks - laughing really hurts.

  8. And coughing is no fun either. I'm glad its behind me. The cats think the flowers I got are for their dining enjoyment. Anyone know where to put them so I can enjoy them without them being destroyed by the fur babies.

  9. Put the flowers in vases at the top of the bookshelves. That's the only way to thwart my two furry little munching maniacs.

  10. Goodness, Sandi - how awful that you got so sick. Gallbladder can be tough to diagnosis but when it's bad it is really bad. Sophie, you curl up with your mama and give her lots of extra attention.

    Take good care, Sandi. Gather your strength and get well! { {{{hugs}}}}

  14. Oh my, Sandi, so glad you are ok! Must have been a scary time! I read the other post first from Tessie and got quite worried about you, so started to work through the other threads to see if I could find out what happened. Many hugs to you and your fur babies!

  22. Thanks everyone. Sophie is doing a good job as Nurse Cat. Tessie is irritated because I won't let her eat my flowers and Molly is irritated at the whole situation (mostly visitors are not her thing). My Mom is having knee replacement surgery today and I'm sorry that I am not able to be at the hospital or too help her much. I have sisters that are but I can't so not happy about that. I'm grateful for a large family, though

    Posted 3 years ago by Cat talk rules #

  23. Yay, Sophie! Keep taking good care of your mama. Tessie, Willow completely shares your frustration at not being allowed to eat flowers. There simply isn't a bud or leaf that she doesn't try to nibble on.

    Sandi, so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope that her surgery goes well. Don't worry about not going to the hospital. My theory, when working on a surgical unit, was always that if people were sick enough to be in the hospital, they really didn't need visitors anyway!

    Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  24. WWM, I agree about visitors, esp those people you seldom ever see who when they hear you are in the hospital beat it right over there . . . then you go home and hear from no one. I think hospital visitation is a holdover from the days when they kept you for days, even weeks and by then you were glad to see someone LOL. Its just nerve wracking when someone is in surgery so I wanted to be with my sisters for moral support

    Posted 3 years ago by Cat talk rules #

  25. I know, Sandi. But your mom knows that you are there in spirit and you need to take care of you right now.

    Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  26. And I am doing that, that will ease her mind also. My sister called hours ago and said she came through surgery fine and was in recovery. I haven't heard anything since. I hate to call because I know how irritating the darn phone was when I was in and something would be going on or I was trying to sleep.

    Posted 3 years ago by Cat talk rules #

  27. Sandi, just caught this thread..so sorry you were in pain and your mom too! very glad you have your therapy kitty Sophie...{{{HUGS}}}

    Posted 3 years ago by 2bpurring #

  28. Sandi, the old adage applies here - if there is bad news, you will hear. If everything is fine... silence.... Go to sleep!

    Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  29. WWM, I thought that too. Just talked to my sister who said that Mom was off running done the hall with tubes flying and nurses trying to catch her then I talked to my Mom who told me a more sedate version but she is doing good, and has been up and sounded good. I'll rest easy.

    Posted 3 years ago by Cat talk rules #

  30. It sounds like everything is turning out just fine, dear. WWM gave you some very good advice, and I always listen closely to nurses: "Go to sleep!"

    And the rest of us will keep watch.
