Doesn't anyone care about doing the right thing anymore? Apparently, only one person in Austin does--the judge on the court of appeals. To overlook DNA evidence because the claimant is a Katrina refugee and the defendant is a rich Austinite is unconscionable. Never mind about what all this must be doing to poor Jazz.

  4. WooooHoooo for the Honorable Judge Henry who reversed this travesty in judgement! Trust me...I'd fight for my beloved pets and I really resent a court official who neglected the evidence provided that could prove the dog's true owner. I mean...really..somehow the original owner obtained brush samples by sneaking into the adopted owner's property to attain such samples to fool the court??? That's basically what would have to have happened in order for the evidence not to be valid. Pulllease!!!!

  7. one word

    MICROCHIP

Then it could be ruled that if your disaster-rescued pet does not have a chip and you prove otherwise prove ownership after a Samaritan has adopted your baby, you are responsible for the medical bills if you want to reclaim said pet. A Samaritan who chooses to adopt/foster a chipped pet would assume the full financial burden as part of the bargain.
