My family came to visit this weekend and they brought their new puppy. When my kitten, Holly walked in the room everyone thought something awful would happen... the cat would scare they puppy, the puppy would attack the cat, etc. But then, the dog started to groom Holly and she began to purr. They became good friends and it was sad when they left.

Welcome to TDK Haleakalah. I used to have a dog that would mother any baby critter--cats, ducks, geese, and often wild baby bunnies that she would take away from the outdoor kitties. She would lay outside all night and tuck them up under her front legs until one of us would get up in the morning. As soon as she had help to distract the kitties, she would ever so gently pick them up and take them back to wherever they came from. I don't know how she knew where to take them but they would always make it back to their mamas safe and sound.
