  1. DEAR ABBY: I dress my Siamese cat, "Belle," in clothes and pajamas. (Yes, they make apparel for cats.) I also push her around in a stroller. My friends think I'm crazy, but I consider Belle to be my daughter.

One time, a teenager came up to me as I was pushing Belle in her stroller and asked, "Where's the baby?" I told her that Belle was like my baby.

Is it nuts to treat a cat like a child? -- MOM OF A FUR KID IN N.Y.

DEAR "MOM": Nuts? No. A bid for attention ... perhaps.

  5. I read that in yesterdays newspaper and had to laugh!! Would I dress my kits like that? Sure!! Would I get away with it without being torn to pieces?? Somehow I don't think so! Besides, they look great o-natural!

  8. I used to dress Sebastian up in doll clothes. He loved it. But then, he never complained about anything. I wouldn't even think of trying that with Huddy and Mavvy.

  9. I've never dressed any of my cats, even when a child (but those were all farm cats, then). My granddaughter, though, used to dress her cat Snickers in doll clothes and push him in a doll stroller. He seemed to like it.

  10. I wouldn't dare dress my cats up. Snake probably wouldn't care, but I can't see Grumpy and Spook liking it.

  11. I used to dress up our black cat, Aunt Jemima, when I was little. I had a little doll emsemble that looked adorable on her--a too tight little white with pink trim dress that buttoned up the back (and AJ's furr spilling out from under the too-tight neck) and a little matching pink bonnet that even had two slits in it for her ears to pop through. I'd put her in my buggy and head on down the sidewalk without a care in the world. I only did it because she seemed to love it (that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!)

  12. I think Bosley should wear some clothes, FH!! He'd look adorable.

  13. I'm thinking about a tight Speedo, flip-flops, goggles. . .

He's so laid back that I'm sure he'd let me do it!

  14. Rocky and Macey would look adorable in clothes, but I don't want to force them to wear clothes if they don't want to. I think its fine to treat your cat as a baby, but only do it if he/she enjoys it!

  15. A cat named Aunt Jemima...reminds me of the two black cats my brother- and sister-in-law had back in the 80's--Willis and Arnold. That is, until one day when my brother-in-law noticed that "Arnold" was looking rather fat.

"Arnette" never quite caught on as a name....

  18. Yep, me too AZDeb. I have 9 out of the 15. Never had a kitten shower but now that I think of it, they bring gifts for the new furkits. Might have to get a stroller!
