The sun is going down, time to head off to watch the fireworks. We have plenty of blankets to sit on at the beach. There are sparklers for all the kitties if they want them. If we all sit together maybe the young kitties won't be scared. When we come back we will have a beach bonfire and roast marshmellows and make s'mores. I think the fireflies are starting to glow!

Happy Purrday Gem! (Party at the lake)

Willow and Windi are so comfy on a blanket watching the fireflies and waiting for the fireworks. But, all of a sudden they remember something VERY important.
Windi rushes around to make sure that the glasses of all of the kits are full. Once that is done she looks to her sister, who goes to the front of the group and says..
*Please raise your glasses in a toast to our great country and in celebration in the birth of America. And please, raise your glasses a second time in toast to our troops who keep us safe. God Bless America, and may God Bless our Troops!*

Velvet and Andy go "hear, hear"with their beverages. After the cookout, Andy came over to Velvet's lap and settled down for a short nap. She looked over to Bog and Clark, who smiled and nodded and said "Andy has never had a real mom, it's wonderful to see him like this with you" Velvet said "And I've never had a baby of my own, but it look like I have a nephew, at least for the evening. He may call me Auntie Velvet any time, not just today, can he stay with me the rest of the evening ? I'll make sure he is safe and sound at all times..." Clark and Bob nod "yes" and then pull out a wee blanket for Andy. "He may be more comfortable with this..."
She and Andy and his blankie head to the beach for the fireworks. As she walks, she starts singing a quiet melody. Andy smiles in his sleep... -
Willow and Windi slept very late this morning, having been out past their normal bedtime to watch the beautiful fireworks. Since breakfast, they have not been able to stop talking about Gem's birthday party.
Willow looks forlornly around the backyard and wails *Can we go for a boat ride?* WWM sighs, and explains yet again that we live in the desert and the only water around comes out of the end of the garden hose.
Windi looks at mama and softly suggests *If we had a pony, maybe you and Daddy wouldn't have to mow the grass so much*. She smiles her crooked little smile which always makes mama reach down and kiss her.
WWM has to explain to the girls that we live inside the city limits and the neighbors might not enjoy having a pony next door.
The Girls look very disappointed, but they run over to the worm hole and cry...
"Happy Birthday, Gem!!! And thank you for inviting us to the wonderful party, Nora! It was an absolutely purrfect July 4th!!"

Gem wants to thank everyone for coming to her party. It made her feel very welcome and special in her new home. We have some very nice people who live just down the street and they have a nice place for the pony to live - they have horses too! Gem and the girls will be able to visit the pony whenever they want. I'm glad the pony won't have to live out on the deck LOL. (Guess where the girls are right now?)
Gem loves all of her presents. Some of the fireflies got away, but Mommy says that she knows how to get some more. All of the girls slept in for a long time this morning - they are getting a little older, you know. They have decided that they really like these TDK parties. Thank you all again!
