Prayers for Rubia's Mom

Hi everyone! Thanks again for all the prayers and kind thoughts. My mom is doing better, although she still can't see out of her left eye. It looks like that will be permanent. She is back at her retirement home, but is currently staying in the health center (nursing care facility) until she is steadier on her feet. They are having her do all sorts of therapy - physical therapy, speech therapy (although it doesn't sound like she really needs it), and all sorts of other stuff. Once again, I thank God that she was able to move into that retirement community 20 years ago!!! I'm sure it has saved her life on more than one occasion, and she always gets great care when she has been ill.
I've spoken to her almost every day, and today she did say she was feeling better - that she was walking better and so on. I think she did sound better as well. She is still frustrated to not know what actually happened. The doctor at the health center confirmed that the scan they did at the hospital did not show any sign of a stroke. So she is going to ask him next time he comes round whether they should do another one.
But the good news is that she is feeling better - both physically and I'm sure, mentally as well. I told her that I had all the TDK folks praying for her and sending healing energy, and she said to thank all of you! I'm sure that all of your prayers have helped tremendously!

My mom is continuing to improve, which I'm sure is due to all the TDK white light you all sent to her! The one down side is that it seems likely that the loss of sight in her left eye is permanent. Otherwise, she is getting steadier on her feet everyday, and is hoping to be back in her apartment next week. Still no clue as to exactly what happened. I know she is hoping to talk to the doctor today about the possibility of more tests. I will give her a call later and find out the latest.
I do want to go see her, but I haven't had a chance to check out flights or anything yet. I will try to do that this evening.
I told her that all the TDKers were praying for her, and she said to thank all of you and that she appreciates the kindness!

I'm so glad to know that your mom is doing better, Rubia. It is hard being as far away as you are, but maybe your mom could really use some help when she is discharged and you could go then.

Good news - I just spoke to my mom, and she will be going back to her apartment on Friday! She sounded really good today, and definitely glad that she'll be back home soon. She also spoke to the doctor today, and he said that she'd had a T.I.A. (as CM had suggested). He also said that the problem with her eye (the blood vessel being blocked) was actually a separate thing, and that these types of things don't usually happen simultaneously. In any case, he said that further tests weren't needed, and my mom is happy with that. She just wants to go home!
