  1. Good morning, Everyone! First of all, thank you all for bearing with me through my tears today for Bomber. You all are the only ones who could ever understand the grief that we feel for our precious babies. There are no words to tell you how special you are.

Now then, I have been working in the front yard today. Isn't there a Master Gardener among us? I have a yupon holly that just looks plain sick and I have no idea what it wrong. The strange thing is that I lost a Texas laurel that was planted in that exact spot. I would suspect a soil problem except that it is in a flower bed and everything else in thriving. I have put down some fertilizer for it, but I cannot imagine what is amiss. Usually you can't kill a yupon!

  3. Afternoon all! Three-day weekends always throw me off! I feel like it's Sunday, and so part of me is dreading going back to work tomorrow -- but there is no work tomorrow!!!

  4. Hi WWM! Bomber was a beautiful beloved baby. We understand the loss - we have been there too.

  5. Hi Catherine! Care for a lil' Munchkin today?

Posted 3 years ago by miu #

  6. WWM, does your newspaper carry Neil Sperry's gardening column? If so, you might send your question in to him. He's very good at answering plant questions. He also has a web site, www.neilsperry.com

  7. Oh, today's kitten was so cute! My boyfriend said he looked like a Scottish terrier, though.

  8. Yo Terri!! I'm doing just fine today. We survived the fireworks last night! No doggie heartattacks...I'm such a worrier. We gave Amos a benadryl (1-25mg. cap)and unfortunately it didn't seem to have much effect on him. Jeff stayed indoors with him with the music turned up, whistling tunes and talking to him. I suppose he'll sleep most of the day away along with the cats.

  9. Hi WWM & Catherine!

  10. Hi, Karen!

Thank you, Catherine. Our paper doesn't have that column but I will go and look on-line. I think that spot is cursed!

  12. Ghost Hunters on their way to WWM's house!

    Posted 3 years ago by BCAMflorida227 #

  13. Good afternoon, everyone! Just got back from breakfast with the folks (and sister) and running some errands. Supposed to be 98 degrees here today, so I am hibernating in my cool apt. Dad came home from work yesterday (golf course) with an old dog (they think) another golfer found on the course. It's now chillaxin' at my parents home and I'm thinking that I may have a new brother, although my mother says 'NO WAY!'. I think everyone in my family has 'SUCKER' written on their foreheads when it comes to animals!

  14. Hmmm, Ghost Hunters might just be the answer!!!

FH, don't most of us have that phrase tattooed somewhere on our bodies???

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  15. I'm hibernating, too, FH, though I may go to Hobby Lobby later today. Not that I have the money ... :)

  16. Animals certainly have a way of knowing that we're suckers for them! My parents and I have all been adopted by cats more often than I can remember.

    Posted 3 years ago by Cats4Cats #

  17. OHHHHHHH, HOBBY LOBBY!!!!! They know be by name when I go in there!

Everytime I pull into the parking lot, I say (out loud), "Danger, Will Robinson-danger!"

  18. I thought I had my "Sucker" tatoo hidden pretty good, but, these rural kitties here know how to find them. Maybe it's a 'Hidden Pheramone' us animal lovers throw out there that we don't know of. lol.

btw...Hopper still won't leave the laundry room. Matter of fact...this morning when I opened the back door & he stared out at the great outdoors...he proceeded to put his head back down to go back asleep. He's got plans for me.

  19. Sorry, sorry, sorry, how rude of me!! Chris nabbed the computer then we got caught up watching the series finale of Dr Who! I'm fine CM, Miu, Karen, back and paying attention!

  20. MCW: Don't have a cow, woman! ;) You had a superb excuse.

Posted 3 years ago by miu #

  21. Susie: I am already in love with Hopper! I so hope he gets a furrever home by you or somebody else!

Posted 3 years ago by miu #

  22. Hee hee, thanks miu! It was a damn good series finale!

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  23. That is so endearing about Hopper. What a great story he has been!

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  24. Susie......After following "Adventures With Hopper" for maybe several years (?)........ the final chapter will be "A Laundry Room Kitty"?? I think he had plans for you all along, regardless of your sucker tatoo!!! He wore you down, and now is trying to win your heart and forgiveness for being such a rascal for so many years. I find it amazing and somewhat funny (tho, not for you), his unwillingness to leave the laundry room. Since he likes it so well there, I'd train him how to sort and fold laundry!! Sort of a room and board proposition. Keep us posted on any Hopper Happenings...His fan club will be waiting!!!!

  25. Oh Susie! I'm loving the Adventures with Hopper! Poor old geezer, I can't blame him for not wanting to leave his new comfortable life. But poor you! Would you ever have imagined that he would react like this? I'm assuming that he is using the litter box ok and all? I agree, he needs to start earning his board and room. Groan!

Posted 3 years ago by paulajeanne #

  26. Susie...I think you should write a book all about Hopper and call it 'Hopper's Haven'!! Dude has definitely jumped some hoops over the years, to finally find a comfy place with you. You could talk all about his lust/love affair with Ms. Hissy and think of all the chapters as you introduce Naughtyboy and Prettygirl, Thumper & Spider....You write it, I'll buy it!!!

Posted 3 years ago by Karenopa #

  27. We'd all buy it! Susie, I think that Karen has just hit on how you can make your fortune. An illustrated book of The Life and Times of Hopper - I see Oprah's Book of the Month here!!!!

  28. Arrrrrgh, my headache is still here :( I took a claritin, butit really hasn't helped much. Figures, on my long weekend off I feel all yucky. I wanted to clean up my place today, but didn't get much done. I did clean the bathroom and a litterbox, though! And the counter. I'm dog-sitting for Boss this weekend, and now someone I thought was leaving Monday for three days just called me and said she's leaving tomorrow morninig. Arrrrgh! The money will come in handy, though! I have one weklong dogs-sitting gig this month and another in the beginning of August, but the summer has been slower than usual this year.

  29. GD......Sounds like you need a major chocolate fix!!!!!!! Without touting a particular store.......you will find the "fix" at the grocery store that starts with the letter "P"...... It's in the ice cream section, under the "P" premium chocolate trinity ice cream. Trust me, it is to die for and will cure any ills, and will provide comfort that is needed. Not to share with the boys, tho!!!! :)

    Posted 3 years ago by 12PAWZinFL #

  30. Ooooooh, maybe that WILL help! I have to go take Boss' dogs out again, so I'll be out and about.....
Bobby wouldn't be interested, but Milo would be all over that trying to get a taste.
