  1. On my way back to work after lunch I saw a sweet tuxie kitty gone in the street. I can't tell you how sad I am. It is a very busy street and too much traffic to stop and pick the little body up. My heart is breaking. Why don't people keep their kitties indoors? I know that he is over the bridge and playing with my lost babies but it still hurts. Can't seem to stop the tears. Please think of this poor baby. I said I would not continue to foster kitties because when you lose one it is so hard but what can you do...they need us. I can't bear to see one lost through carelessness! I am sad and angry. I need to think peaceful thoughts and stop being so angry. Thanks for listening.

  4. Puddytat..your story saddens me too. I've said a little prayer for this sweet tuxie that he/she knows joy and everlasting life... :(

  5. ((hugs)) Puddytat, that is very sad. It's perfectly normal to feel the way you do. We've probably been there before too - I know I have. ((more hugs)) It's ok, sweetie. Go ahead and feel sad.

  6. there's a story about a little boy who is at the beach throwing starfishes into water. a man comes to the beach and tells the little boy that by the end of the day many of the starfishes on the beach will be dead becuase they didn't stay in the water. why does he keep throwing the starfishes back into the water? "because it matters to this starfish in my hand" says the little boy...

we can't save them them all.

for those we can't save, we pray for...

  9. How sad, Puddytat - I know that feeling. It s***s. Cheri, I have that story on my office wall, it's very inspiring. In my lake community, where the speed limit is 10, I saw a chipmunk run across the road in front of me. Perhaps it was instinct, or Someone wanted to ease up on all the hits I've been taking lately, but I slowed down to a crawl, and sure enough, my neighbor's kitty ran across the road. Thank you, Lord.

  10. It just does me in to see any little animal in the road. My girls are strictly housekitties, except for going out on the screened in patio. I saw a turtle the other day and that made me so sad. You would think that people could stop, slow down, change lanes... something. I know sometimes it can't be helped, but I've seen times when it's as though people could just care less.

See, THAT is just another reason why y'all are so special!

  11. Couldn't help to reply with a happy story here. My parents were going down a very busy road when they say somehting in the middle of the lane. After them and several cars went over it, they realized it was a cat and turned around to get it. Poor thing was badly shocked and so black with grease you could not tell what color it was. Got it home and dad ws literally watching it die from shock when the most amazing thing happened. I happened to have a mama kitty with 7 week old babies at the time. When she called for them, the other kitten perked right up (we think it was about 6 weeks old at the time). The mama kitty adopted him and he just fine now. Scared of cars, but otherwise ok. Turns out he is a very pretty white cat with gold spots.

  13. That's a lovely story Tiger, thank you for posting it - sometimes there are happy endings. I've rescued borderline cats (who didn't make it) and cats who have passed and informed owners when I can - it's better to know than to always wonder in my book, but it's a heartbreaking thing to do.

  14. Puddytat my heart breaks for you. It is a tragedy when these things happen. Please let your pain ease and know that although senseless he is over the bridge and is in no more pain.

  15. Your kind words mean the world to me. Thanks so very much. Still sad but I know that he is not in any pain. Probably chasing butterflys with my Blackjack.

  16. Puddytat
I always feel exactly the same way when I see this. I hate it. I'm glad to know that it doesn't always end that way though.
