  1. That is encouraging, Leeny! We all are praying that the antibiotics will be enough and Gabe will soon be on the mend.

  3. Glad to hear the vet seems to be finding out what might be wrong. I am glad the vet is willing to work with you on payment. Hugs and purrs to Leeny and Gabe. Hopefully all Gabe will need is some antibiotics and he will start eating soon.

  4. I was reveling in my relief so much, I forgot to call Mr. Leeny! Got the answering machine, though, and left him a message.

  6. Hurray for Gabriel! Hopefully, after breaking his fever he'll want to eat some on his on. In my experience, when my cats haven't eaten regularly in awhile, I have to offer them small bites several times a day until their tummy gets used to eating their regular amount of food.

  7. Great news, Leeny! C'mon, Gabe, hang in there! ((Gabe))

I'm glad the vet will work with you on payments, too, Leeny. That takes a little of the pressure off.

  11. Now I'M hungry, for the first time today! Come here, banana nut muffin...

  12. This is good news indeed. If his BUN is slightly elevated, this may just represent dehydration. As long as his creatinine is good, his kidneys are not really bad.
I'm praying that the antibiotics kick in and Gabe is one happy boy in his new home again. Going for fluids tomorrow if he's no better is an awesome idea, sometimes this is just the jump start that they need. Keep us posted.

  13. That sounds promising, Leeny!
When Mi was little and sick and dehydrated and not very interested in anything other than the gravy from the wet food, I would mix the gravy half and half with plain Pedialyte to help hydrate him - he loved his Pedia-gravy!

  14. That's an idea, GD. I'll have to look into that.

EVERYBODY who has posted, read, prayed, and sent well wishes today, thank you. I was an absolute mess this morning, and your support was all I had throughout this awful, frightening day. I've told you before, you're a lifeline. Thank you again.

I'll try to stop by tomorrow with an update. Now I'm going to de-clutter around here a little, then go shop for my sweet boy's supper.

I hold you both in my thoughts and prayers. I was so worried about him today and couldn't wait to get on the internet to see how is was. Bless your vet as well for being so sweet.... Thank you for taking such excellent care of this sweet baby!!! HUGS to you both!!!
