PM - I hope Melon gets better soon! A UTI is easily treatable. CW I know all about the puddle in the bed - Dara did it the other night while we were all in bed together and it went through to the mattress! Luckily it was the fluids they had been pumping into her at the vet so there was no smell. But a bedding change at 3am on a Winter morning was not pleasant.

Hello everybody, thank you very much for checking in.
Well yesterday I was preparing Melon's case to go to the emergency vet and in the corner of my eye I see him enter the litter box (it's covered).
So I tiptoe to look and gently take the cover off to see what he was doing... I couldn't help but laugh... He looked at me with his big blue eyes shocked! Like... what the...?? My baby was doing a healthy pee!
I am still taking him to the vet today (Monday), I prefer taking him to his regular vet that knows his allergies to antibiotics and is really good with alternative medicine. I will post when I get back. Thank you again, I am hopeful the puddle was just a reminder that the litter box was dirty.Posted 3 years ago by PipasMumSpain #

Poor embarrassed Melon, can you imagine the story he will tell now....she came and looked at me while I was using the toilet!

Yes, he looked at me like saying..."can't a meezer have his privacy???"

LOL, at least you do know he can 'go' when needed....still should see the vet though, glad you are taking him today.

Poor Melon.
PM, you may have to get a litterbox with no cover on it. I never had any trouble from Maverick until I got the covered box. Since I moved, I went back to a regular (uncovered) box and I haven't had an issue since then.
Let us know how that baby is doing.

Good to hear from you. Hopefully, this was a one day mishap.

Keep us updated on Melon, PM. I hope it was just an isolated incident since he was using the potty again :)

Ahhhh---some cats will not use a dirty litter box, or don't want to share. If the box was dirty, then that's why he peed somewhere else--but knowing the meezers are prone to UTI the vet visit is best.

THE VET SAID MELON IS OK!!!!
Yay!!! He is just a picky male siamese who doesn't like to share his litter box with his messy sister who doesn't cover her... ehmmm... poop.
He scared his mama though!

Yes, that's what the vet suggested... a throne for Melon.
My bet is that Pipa will be the first to put her paw in it though!Posted 3 years ago by PipasMumSpain #

Great news! I agree, his own litter box, shouldn't have to share with his messy little sister! Hey, wasn't she the one who left the, ummm, streaks on the floor?
