I would wait a few days to let the little one get used to his surroundings alittle. To be honest,I've had a lot of cats & kittens in my life & never bothered with the bath thing. I have a fear of deep puncture wounds from kitties (lots of scars to show). lol. All have learned quite well from each other how to bathe themselves. For now tho,you might try using the kitty bath wipes to freshen the little guy up.
There are others here on TDK that can help you better with that question.

Gabrielle, you're going to have to purchase one or two things in order to get rid of the fleas.
First, pet stores should have flea combs. You will want to get one. For now, don't get the flea shampoo, since the kitten is too young to safely use it.
Get a bowl of lukewarm water; add a drop or two of dish soap. Get a washcloth. Get comfortable with the kitten, and put the bowl where you'll be able to reach it easily with both hands.
When you comb the kitten, quickly dip the comb as soon as you're done with the stroke, into the bowl of water. Then use your other hand to pull off any fur or fleas from the comb, under water. Pull out the comb, wipe it against the washcloth, and do it again.
You should be able to get most of the fleas off the kitten this way.
If you can get to a good lawn & garden center, you may be able to find diatomaceous earth. It's a nontoxic white powder that you can rub into the kitten's fur, all over. The fleas will cut themselves on the powder; for them, it's like little razor blades.
Good luck!

Forgot to mention something. The fleas will drown in the bowl. When you're done with combing off fleas, just flush the contents of the bowl down the toilet.
You'll want to comb for fleas every day for at least two weeks. That's how long it can take for eggs to hatch. I'd actually comb for fleas every day for three weeks, just to be sure.

Hi Gabrielle, you can bathe her. Make sure the water is lukewarm and there are no drafts. I use Ivory soap or something gentle.Don't keep her in the water long and then have a big towel ready to get her warm again after you're done. Keep her in the warm towel, drying her until she stops shivering and then put her in a warm place,a sunny window or something and she should be fine.
Thanks so much for rescuing this baby!!!! -
Thanks, this is great information Gabrielle.

ann ailuromaniac was discussing diatomaceous earth yesterday on the thread titled Please read, I need a little help! I didn't know about this product, I have always used Frontline. I learned a great deal, even that I might be able to solve another concern for me. If Gabrielle goes to that thread she will get even more information. Then again that is one of the greatest things about this site--you only have to ask and you will get help!
