  1. Can anyone help out this Purebred Rescue group that has been mentioned here before?

Look for "Panda" a poor, old Bluepoint Himi. After reading her story it broke my heart. If I lived in the midwest I would take her in for whatever time she has left. Is there someone who can make whatever time she has left happy?

  2. Poor Panda! Sheba just thinking here but could you contact them and look into shipping her towhere you live? Or flying sown to pick her up?

  3. They don't ship, and the plane fare is more than I can afford from AZ.

  6. That's my problem. My heart just breaks for her-she must have once been loved. I wonder what happened to her owner?

  7. i just went to the himmie rescue site and read all their stories and fell in love with each and every one...

but i can't/won't adopt again until both Velvet and Spice are gone. They are integrated so well with each other that I dare not upset the balance. I got Velvet when she was 7 months old, and I got Spice at 6 weeks old when Velvet was 5. It took a good 6 months for them to come to an understanding.

Now, Velvet is 16, Spice is 11.5. Velvet needs a companion. That's why I got Spice. Spice would do very well by herself, with toys and me, she would be fine...

  8. Sheba's Mom, if you really want to adopt Panda, and the only thing holding you back is transportation, you could check into this:

  11. Panda is very beautiful, wish I knew someone in the midwest who could take her...my dau is out there but extremely allergic to cats and having enough problems with her pregnancy now.

  13. Ann, that is a great idea, but I am worried that Panda might not do well on a long trip with her kidney/dehydration issues. Even if I had the airfare I wonder if she'd make it--I flew here from NY with Sheba & Missy and it's stressful--they make you remove them from the carriers so they can go through the scanner. If no one in the area can take her I'll check with the rescue group and try to make arrangements. They seem to want only a one-week wait for adopters to take the cat, but maybe they would make an exception in this case.

  15. The only contact info I could find is an email address. I have already emailed about Miss Panda this morning. I am just waiting for a response. Did anyone else see another contact number that I might have missed?

  16. Wow, Ann, what a great organization! Thanks for bringing that to our attention. I made the mistake of going to Petco on Sunday to get wetfood and the kittens were being packed up and loaded back to the foster homes that weren't adopted. In one carrier I saw a black kitten and a siamese kitten. I was informed that they were from the same litter. The black one had silver tipped fur and was poking his paw out at me. I touched his paw and and he gripped my finger and started licking it. The siamese was rubbing up against the door. It was like both were saying to me, puleeze take us home. My heart just broke as I knew am limited to two cats in my place. I really wanted them. I wish I had a home so I wouldn't be so limited. I aspired to have 10 cats and be a "crazy cat lady".

  17. I don't know if they are able but I forwarded the link to family I have in Illinois..I'm sure if they are able they will, they adopted several 9/11 orfan kitties from NY and had them flown in...

  23. thanks Renee...

  24. Thanks Renee! The people on this site are amazing! ***wipes away tears*** When I first read about Panda I felt so helpless I cried all day--then I thought about this site--if anything could be done for Panda it will be done here. I don't know why she has torn at my heartstrings so--maybe it's her poor sad old eyes. Or maybe knowing that someday it could happen to me.......

  25. Sheba's mom, I know what you mean. Panda pulled at my heartstrings too. Panda reminded me of my Sheba, she was part Himi and looked like Panda. She lived to be 18 1/2 yrs. old. She passed away a few days before Thanksgiving in 2002. I wish I could adopt all the needy kitties but I have my hands full with about 20 of my own. I love cats so much!

Posted 3 years ago by Renee in Arkansas #

  26. My heart goes out to all the senior kitties who face having to find new homes. I hope someone who is close by can help this kitty. I have to say all of the siameezers at that place have amazing faces but you can just see the dejection in Panda's face. It just breaks my heart.

Posted 3 years ago by SylMiaFelixMomma #

  27. I needed that like I needed a whack over the head with a steel pipe!

Please go look at Brie, and you will see the face of Jasmine, the love of my life, the kitty I used to call "my little reason for living."

Why won't God let me win the lottery?????

  29. I read Panda's story and it also pulled my heart strings. I wish I could give her a loving home, but I'm afraid of how Rovky and Macey would react to her.

  30. I have emailed twice today and will try again in the morning. I wish I had a phone number to call the rescue.
