   Now I'm sad about the original owner. She tried to do the right thing by finding him another family and she's heartbroken to have to give him up. It's bad enough that she can't keep the pet she loves, but to have a "friend" let the poor thing wander off is really awful.

   At least Chunky will get a good home, and will probably lose weight.

   Wow...I've completely changed my stance on this story. It's not fair that the elderly can end up out on the street and be forced to give up family. I think someone should try to save this little family by findng her a place to live and allowing her to have her 'little man' back! :(

   I agree with what 2p said. That is so sad that this so called friend said she would help find the cat a new home but then dumps it out on the street. Thinking unfluffy thoughts about this person.
