Look at those eyes!

Oh, my goodness - this precious kitty looks like my Willie, who went to the Bridge twenty years ago. He was such a special kitty. While we were living in Austin, we were out in our front yard one evening and these two women were walking down the sidewalk. Behind them was a little kitten tromping along with them. Of course we thought that he was with the women. But he took one look at us (and my mom and dad were visiting us then), peeled off and came right up to my mom demanding to be picked up. He was full of fleas but he just latched onto her and began "nursing" on her earlobe. We knew then and there that we had a new kitty.
One time, when we lived at Ft. Belvoir, VA, Willie brought a snake home. It was about six feet long and black. We were never actually sure who brought who home but he was very proud of that thing. I think he was disappointed when it came to a somewhat inglorious end at the hands of a garden hoe wielded by my husband.
Willie was 18 years old when he went to the Bridge and he never lost that habit of nursing on earlobes. We were devastated when he left and SoxsMom's comment about the house being so empty really hit. I could hardly stand to go in the door knowing that Willie wouldn't be there.
About three months later we were transferred to NM and went to the pound because we realized that a house without a kitty is only a house and not a home. We were adopted by Skimbleshanks and Bombalurina, both dearly loved kitties.
That Willie, though - he was pretty special. Of course, aren't they all?

Ohhhhh..WWM..Willie sounds so precious. I love how kitties choose us! He just knew, as he was bouncing his way along, that this was his turn-off. How sweet that he suckled earlobes that way.
Cheri..Velvet is the purrfect name for her..she's absolutely ink black! Beautiful girl but so is Spice!
