  1. I am so so sorry Ann. I do understand your pain and your grief. You are right... there just are no words.

  2. Thank you both. I don't usually sit around and cry, but it seems like the thing to do this evening. That, and maybe plant in and water a couple of trees. There is something about planting trees that helps sooth my soul, and I need some of that tonight.

  3. That would be soothe my soul. I'm so discombobulated that I've forgotten how to spell!

  7. anncetera, bless you for being the caring friend of Michael and his family, bless Michael and his passing which I hope was peaceful for him, prayers and best wishes for his family in the time before them and loads of prayers with the acceptance of his passing to a place where there is no pain and knowing that he will be watching over them. {{{hugs}}}

  9. I'm so sorry, Ann. You and Michael and his family are in my thoughts. Planting trees for loved ones is a lovely thing to do, I think, and when you look at them, you remember what a blessing they were.

  10. Thank you all so much. And yes, that's exactly why I plant some trees; I remember the person and their wonderful attributes whenever I look at the tree.

  11. So sad to read of this terrible news....a warm embrace across the miles is all I can offer as there are never enough words that will otherwise truly comfort the soul. Peace and comfort to his beloved family. Such terrible life events can never be fully understood. All I can imagine is that he was desperately needed elsewhere.

  12. Ann when I clicked on this thread the first thing I noticed was your avitar--Precious Kitty is the best. Then I looked for a wonderful update. The update that I had prayed for didn't happen. I wish more than anything I had words that would help--I'm sorry is very inadequate but all I have. My prayers are for you and Michael's family as they deal with the terrible grief that comes with losing someone you love. I am so very sorry Ann for your loss. Please know that you are loved--Michael loved you as a dear friend and that will never end. Until you meet again please take comfort in the thought he is in no pain.

  24. Ann how are you doing tonight? Continued prayer of peace and supreme comfort to you. I am worried about you. Please know you are loved.

  25. I'm doing okay; I'm more concerned about his widow, Ginger. I still don't know when the memorial service will be, but I'd anticipate 100-200 people will likely attend; possibly more, if it's held this weekend. This Friday, I'll be able to get a houseplant or flower arrangement to Ginger. Or perhaps I could get a gift card to a large local nursery, toward purchase of a tree in the springtime (along with my offer to plant it for her, wherever she'd like).

  26. What a wonderful thought Ann, not only a small comfort to Ginger, but a lasting memorial to Michael. Continued prayers may the Lord comfort Michaels friends and family.
