  4. Yeeee Haaaaaw, Ginny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is very exciting news. I'm keeping everything crossed that you get this job. Wouldn't that be sweet?!!! When are they supposed to let you know?

  5. There was one more interview today. The principal said she wants to make a decision quickly, but I'd be very surprised if I heard anything before sometime tomorrow. Then again, we are talking about a bureaucracy, so in truth, only God knows when!

  9. Ha! I don't think we have a leg to stand on, Ginny. We are at KM's complete mercy. He has a right where he wants us, doesn't he?? :D

I saw on his blog that he is touring all over Europe and the Middle East by train. He may have encountered a place that doesn't have internet service yesterday. (Is there such a place any more??)

  21. *chewing on nails* is it time for martinis yet?????????? Maybe chocolate. ...
*scurries to the cupboard to see where it is hidden* ....

  22. Waiting is always agony. Chocolate does wonders in some cases. Napping in other cases. Hope you get the call soon that they are hiring you. Thinking positive.

  23. Ginny, you can do what our cats do:

    1. Eat enough to keep up your strength
    2. Eat a little bit more for more strength
    3. Powernap
    4. Race through the house/garden chasing imaginary enemies
    5. Repeat steps 1 through 4

Much love, and you're gonna do great!

  24. Gatakitty, hermana, everything is going to come out great. I am back from putting a candle to Santa Rita, she helped me pass my degree in engineering... she can do anything!

  25. I so hope no news is good news!! I'm getting cramp from all the things that are crossed... ;-) SMM's advice is good, hit the chocolate!

  26. Madre de Pipa: thanks for the candle. I learned about Santa Rita from watching "The Rookie." A great movie with connections to two of my homes: Texas and Tampa Bay.

Everyone: Thanks for your support and well wishes! Here's the latest--I went to a job fair yesterday and thought I had totally wasted my time. Then I got a call today from someone I met at the fair. A private firm that operates a detention facility within a reasonable drive needs teachers--badly. The pay is right about what is average for the area.

I e-mailed my former principal, who has a background working juvy and is my go-to for all things correctional. She was very enthusiastic; she knows the unit and thinks it will be a perfect fit. It helps that this unit is for detention (for illegals awaiting deportation) rather than corrections.

I was told to expect a call for an interview w/in a day or two. I never got a call back from the MS of last week, despite my calls (always only getting voice mail). Oh, well.

  27. Perhaps last week wasn't meant to be and this is GK - everything is (still!) crossed for the right thing for you.
