  4. You didn't make it harder believe me. I have had a one track mind all day thinking about him Don't know why I am so preoccupied today. I thought when I saw the date on the thread--well it makes sense that I am thinking of him a lot today. Well it isn't the date it is just one of those days that I miss him most. Part of me has been mad at him for playing with Sox and contracting the virus and you have no idea how upset I get for bringing Sox in without a clue. I should have known better. But I miss Sox too. Sox was that tuxedo baby that I have always wanted and we bonded instantly--fleas and all. Don't have the same bond with Deuter. He is a wild child. Definitely the daughter's kitten. Teaser has been clingy lately trying to figure out where Basil is I guess. She will sit next to his door waiting for him. It breaks my heart.

  12. I went to that post and saw that I was sick. That is when everything started to hit the fan so to speak. If I had treatment right then would things have been different? I doubt it but you know you ask yourself what if all the time. Or maybe that is just me.

  14. It's 1.30 am here now. Almost time for the Olympics coverage to start again on the BBC. I'll just go and get a cup of tea, some water and a glass of wine, so that I can settle comfortably for my night's viewing. I have to change into my night clothes and fetch a blanket as well.

  15. Having a hard time focusing on anything. I think I am going to go to bed early tonight. I felt under the weather and thought it was just stress but now I have a temp and my lymph nodes are swollen . I guess it is time for meds and bed. This is a bad time to get sick.

  17. i hired the kittens at the morning cafe. and i hired the security kitties at the cafe too. they were homeless before i stepped in.

    btw, i now officially have my 25 years in with the state today !!! yippee !!! yahoo !!! google !!!

    25 yrs! The longest I have been employed was at the Morning News. I almost had 10 yrs in at the time of layoff.

    Think I'll go and watch some of the olympics, too.

  26. SoxsMom, everyone second-guesses when things turn out bad. "I should have done this, I could have done that, what was I thinking" can wear a tired groove in our minds. Please quit beating yourself up. You did the very best you could with the information you had. You did everything right that you could think of.

    Just know we love you, God loves you, and you are always in our prayers.

    Where Basil is, there is sunshine and peace and great enduring love. When you do sleep tonight, see Basil in the meadow just past the Bridge, purring in the soundest, sweetest sleep he has ever known. He turns over, sighs, and purrs again, thinking of you.

  30. Wow, just checked the nightshift thread of 11 months ago! It seemed like longer than that, that I posted those words. And Soxs Mom, you weren't well then either. I pray that you feel better soon. Don't like seeing you sick from one year to another. Have missed some of those that posted on that thread, Bobbi, who started it was still working, that changed. Haven't seen much of Instinct and Bumblebee. Some of you are here, but different in the way that time makes us grow, and me, just me! thanks for the memory Bobbi, and still up way past my bedtime! Supervisor still checking in!!!
