There are a few things that I would like to address in regards to TDK Fund.
Most imporantly, this is not part of the TDK proper. This Fund was created as a separate entity from TDK.
First, I apologize for being ill and being unable to answer questions as quickly as some members of the TDK would have like. However, I am better now and able to answer.
Second, The Fund was created to help members of our community that are in need. There is NO secrecy in this action. There is question of privacy, however. Cheetahboysmom has graciously offered to create a standard form for requests. On behalf of the committee, I gratefully accept her offer.
Third, when a request is made for help, it is asked that the person requesting assistance contact a member of the committee.
Please find the following mission statement in regards to the TDK Fund.
MISSION STATEMENT
And DONATION GUIDELINES
The Daily Kitten Fund, aka TDK Fund, is a website community of friends and cat (animal) lovers, and is an informal non-profit organization. We are dedicated to helping people and/or places who make an effort to care for animals and are unable to do so because of money constraints by giving them help in the form of a gift card or certificate, check, or other means of gifting.
Money for this fund will come from donations of the membership of The Daily Kitten viewers. Any member may make a donation, ask for a donation, or request a donation for a specific need. Distribution of said monies and amounts to be given will be determined by a majority vote of the Volunteer Committee, a committee comprised of TDK viewers who wish to participate.
The TDK fund, though entirely separate from a memorial fund for Chester’s Place at the Burke County Animal Shelter in Morganton, North Carolina, (a fund which was started in memory of our friend Jerry Smith, owner of Chester, who passed away earlier this year), will make a semi-annual donation to the Burke Co. Animal Shelter, monies permitting.
