    Sniff - they just don't write songs like that anymore. I was sort of hoping that my song would be "Who let the dogs out". Sadly, I am a shade too mature.

  5. Anyone remember who first sang a song called 'Young Love'? It might be 'Young Love, First Love'? My mother's friend used to play that all of the time and all of these songs made me think of it! :)

    Sorry, HM, but the name of the RCA dog was not Victor. It was "Nipper." In the 80's, RCA introduced a lookalike pup called "Chipper."

  16. OMG, 2P! The Ballad of Davy Crockett???? That was played before every Davy Crockett episode on TV. It was a Disney series. Well, not that I remember it personally, of course..... But, I did have a coon skin cap and wore it everywhere :-)

    Instinct, I happen to really like The Association :-)

    And, sadly, I think that I know all of the words to Young Love.

  22. Hey WWM - I had a coonskin cap as well. I have a photo of me wearing the cap along with a Davy Crockett tshirt! Apparently I knew all the words to the song as well - that is one of my mom's favourite stories! "...king of the wild frontier!!!"
