  1. Well, it is about time for a meet-up, wouldn't y'all say? Having driven 10 hours to Dallas for lunch for the last one, I think that it's time that y'all come to West Texas!! So , I have a proposal. First of all, I could REAllY use a Girls Weekend Away. Love Mr. WWM, but a girls weekend would be awesome. I propose Lubbock. There at three wineries that we could visit; the Texas Ranching Heritage Museum, and if you insist, Prairie Dog Town. Plus, there's even a Buddy Holly Memorial. Come on - how much better can it get????

    I know a place in Post, Texas. It is the most adorable B&B that you can imagine. We could probably take the whole place over. I know that the prices might seem $$, but it is quite unique. But, there are tons of places in Lubbock that are not B&B's, but more on the vein of national chains.

  3. Just curious...where would you fly into? With kids in school and distance I doubt that I could join in on the fun, but would love to think about it.

  5. From what WWM has said about dust and West Texas, I'd think you could dress as a dust bunny, lie in the road and blow to Lubbock.

  16. Ginny has school started there yet?? Kids' first day back was today. Believe it or not we already have job opening. Can teachers want out that bad that after one day they are looking to get out?

  17. State law in TX prohibits starting school before the last Mon. in August (don't get me started on how THAT stupid law came about in the last session). Their first day is the 26th.

    I wanted out of that assignment last spring in the first hour. That was, without a doubt, the worst 12 weeks in my life.

    bobbi: I'm spending most of my time in Austin now. The occasional weekend in Cat Spring is it. I can't wait until I never have to go back again.

  25. I have a good feeling that you'll get a job, GK. A lot of times, districts have to hire at the last minute after they've done registration and realize they need more teachers!

    Well, I am thinking maybe October? We have a trip back East in September, but it could be the end of September for this one. It is cooler out in these parts in October, though. The weather is usually really nice.

    I'm willing to coordinate if y'all want to give me some dates that look good.

  30. I would be interested but after checking flights, it involves taking an overnight flying and changing twice on the way to Lubbock. Only flying home involves only one change. Price is around $500 so think it won't work afterall. If was to be in Dallas, could be more doable.
