  1. it's 5 hours from me. Maybe. Can I throw a wig on MeezerRoboto and bring him anyway?

  2. I wanna go :(

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  3. I so want to go ! But... sorry, there is a but... I now have to replace my kitchen counters because manfriend did not use much finesse when cutting room for my new stove and the Formica is chipped. And, I'm saving for 2 1/2 to 3 weeks in Hawai'i next July. 2009 Hula Conference and some fun before and after. With air fares what they are... well, it won't be cheap.

Wish Lubbock was close enough for me to drive !!!

  4. S and M squared, both bobbi and FH live in the Dallas area. Could you fly there and hitch a ride with one of them?

Posted 3 years ago by gatakitty #

  5. MM: How's MeezerRoboto's new razor working? If he can get it to work on his legs, you might just get away with the wig thing!

I won't tell, I promise--and why do you want to see if my fingers are crossed behind my back????

  6. Also, it is cheaper to fly into Midland than Lubbock.

I forgot that we do have a football game to go to at College Station the end of September. But really, October weather is better. I will look at my calender and get some dates together.

The other option could be Fredricksburg, as that's kind of halfway for a lot of us. Would that work better for anyone?

  7. I think I'll have to pass. Things are a little tough right now — short staffed at work, and we just found out yesterday that our paper is being sold. And I'm hoping to start grad school next year, so I'm trying real hard (and failing) to save money.

  8. Shaved legs and wigs nothing! I LOVE girl's weekends!

  9. Y'know, MR, after that trip to the Galleria, I believe you!

Here's something we could do--although it would involve meeting in the DFW area again.

  10. I just checked the drive from Dallas to Lubbock. Five hours!! Yikes.

Posted 3 years ago by SylMiaFelixsMomma #

  11. I know, SMM. And just think, we made the drive from Midland to Dallas and back again in one day so that I could have lunch!! This is Texas, things are few and far between. Ten hours of driving!!!

It doesn't have to be Lubbock. I was just thinking that was so close for TKN, Soxsmom and me. But I'm up for some place else. And, there's always San Antonio, too.

  12. Gatakitty, the show Dallas is right up there with Paula Deen......

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  13. Naw, I was hooked on Dallas. I still remember hi-tailing it from the football game to Mr. Gattis down the street so we could see who shot JR--that was the only place in the area with TV's and under-21 admittance.

Posted 3 years ago by gatakitty #

  14. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm....Mr. Gattis!

Posted 3 years ago by HuddysMama #

  15. Gatti's didn't last long in my hometown, HM. It had the misfortune to be too far from the campus and too close to the finest Chicago-style pizzaria known to man-a local joint named DaVinci's owned by a Chicago ex-patriate named Sandro who happened to go to temple with the family of my then-boyfriend.

For many years, Sandro was a cash-only kind of guy. He used to put on the bottom of his menus "Sorry, no checks, credit cards, or bubblegum cards."

What I don't understand is how Gatti's has become a rip-off Chuck E. Cheese's here in Texas. Have they no dignity?

Posted 3 years ago by gatakitty #

  16. We had a Gatti's in Okc about 20-years ago. The food wasn't great, and there were more fun places within walking distance. I think Cici's put them out of business here.

Posted 3 years ago by MeezerRoboto #

  17. Oh yeah! I had forgotten that we had one here

Posted 3 years ago by MeezerMama in OK; 10/23 #

  18. MR, you never said how that new faux-straight razor of yours is working....

Posted 3 years ago by gatakitty #

  19. Our Mr. Gattis is awesome. I'm not a fan of Chicago pizza (please don't tell the man-friend), because the sauce is too sweet.

  20. Lubbock is a breeze, driving with me or FH. And I use a radar detector.....
Anyone wants to come to Dallas is welcome to ride with me.
    Ginny already has that invite.
And Lubbock is fine - it really is not that far......

  21. Wish I could go... Hope it works out for you all!

    Posted 3 years ago by 3Bangin'kitties #

  22. 'MR, you never said how that new faux-straight razor of yours is working....'

I'm not fast enough with it to make it feasible for daily use, but when I do my face comes out nice and smooth. I mentioned it on my blog, but I've only used it once or twice since then for that reason.

Posted 3 years ago by MeezerRoboto #

  23. Fredricksberg and/or San Antonio could also work. The weather in October is usually VERY nice;

  24. I am open to letting people stay at my place, it is small but I have a queen size air mattress and a very comfy couch. Oh and lots of furr babies (though I make no promises on how friendly Buster will be)

Posted 3 years ago by artistabobbi TX 1/17 #

  28. I will check the band schedule--I have to work the weekend clinics.

Posted 3 years ago by SoxsMom #

  29. Still working on schedules. The fall gets nuts, doesn't it????

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  30. This sounds like so much fun! I wish I could come...it would be soooo good for me! But I can't afford to drive to Wal-Mart right now, much less leave the city. But I know you guys will have so much fun, you'll insist on doing it again, and I'll be in better shape then...both physically and financially. (The asthma came back, and I'm barely creeping.)
