Cats “Kiss” with their Eyes!!!

Have you ever noticed your cat gazing at you for a long moment and then slowly blinking his eyes? That’s the kitty equivalent of a kiss, and you should feel very flattered. Of course, a nip on the nose is also their way of giving a kiss. If you want to show your cat you love him, give him a kitty kiss right back. No, not on the nose. Just give him that long stare and slow blink and see what happens.

I get some of them too! I always felt love when my cat would slow blink. Now I know why.

My son did that when he was a very tiny baby. He’s 12 1/2 now, and he still does. We all know it means “I love you.”

I remember my childhood cat doing that and understanding even then (when I was about 10) that it meant “I trust you and love you.”

Now, Marzipan will occasionally do the stare/slow eye blink . . . but he really has the nose nip (especially at 4am) down!

Wow, something new that I learned today… that’s awesome!!! I’m going to have to try that back with my kittehs… I do know that I get lots of kisses from mine (now that I know that it actually means something when they do that, lol) 🙂

My childhood cat would come over to me, do the slow blink then nip my nose and lick it 🙂

My two girls give me the slow blink and I get many many nose licks 🙂

When she was a kitten, Libs used to nip my nose in the middle of the night when I was asleep. It hurt like the blazes! I wish I’d known it was a sign of affection — mind you, it would still have hurt!

I had a kitty who would bonk my nose and then nibble at it. Patches would bonk so hard sometimes it would bring tears to my eyes! He was SUCH a fat loveboy. In fact, ALL of my boycats except one have been BIG boys.

Thierry is good at the slow blink. I call it lovey eyes. When he does that, I also swear that he smiles at me. Yeah I am a crazy catlady catslave.
