  1. Fortunately, Mr. Leeny didn't have to have anything expensive done to his teeth yet. The dentist just filed them to smooth them. Looks like he's going to need two partials, one upper and one lower, but that will happen when the teeth start to hurt. There's such widespread decay, it isn't worth trying to repair anything. Full dentures will come 5 to 10 years from now, whenever the capped teeth fail.

When more extensive work is done, Mr. Leeny will apply for a medical loan to pay for it. Because I'm carrying all the family debt, he's probably got a better credit rating than I have. I know the prescreened offers for credit cards that come to him in the mail have better terms than I get.

Went to the GP Friday; "bad" cholesterol is only up 23 points since I stopped taking the statin, and I was eating a lot of eggs and pizza the week they drew the blood. Doctor says we'll just leave things as they are for now and he'll see me in 6 months. Haven't been feeling good this week, though. Got very lightheaded in church on Sunday and actually fell in the narthex; great day to have that happen with the temp being officially installed by the bishop's assistant. Feeling very tired now; hard to concentrate on work because I can't remember what I'm supposed to be doing with various tasks. Didn't sleep very well last night, though; that may be part of it.

Like my gravatar? On the left, my Katie, who's at the Bridge, is watching over her sisters and brother.

  2. Leeny, it's no wonder that you felt dizzy and fell. You've just been under so much pressure and stress. It's so easy to say this, but you really do need to take care of the caretaker.

Very cool avatar! I could barely manage a simple picture!!!!!

  3. Leeny, your description of how you're feeling almost exactly matches how I felt late last year - post Mum trouble burn out - I ended up in hospital, please don't let that happen to you. Can you take some time off/out? I'm worried about you.

  7. Leeny....getting dizzy doesn't sound good to me. I'm surprised at the doctor saying to leave things as they are for 6 mos. ?? Please be careful and I love your gravatar as it includes all of your precious babies!

  8. Thanks, Karen. Actually, I didn't start getting dizzy until 2 days after I saw the doctor, and he doesn't know about it. Mr. Leeny wanted to call him on Monday, but I didn't think it was necessary.

  9. Leeny....maybe you should go to the doctor since you passed out. That's never a good sign. You've been so stressed out lately (and rightly so), maybe it couldn't hurt at least to just have a talk with him/her.

Take care, and yes, your avatar is lovely. ((hugs))

  10. Leeny, don't let yourself get run down; you already have shouldered so much. Adding another straw may be too much for the poor camel's back.

Some of this may sound really basic, but are you eating well and drinking lots of water? If you are skipping meals or becoming dehydrated, you may not realize it. And that could result in a weakened system overall.

Certainly, if you have another dizzy spell, I would call the doctor. If for no other reason, it will serve as an example to Mr. Leeny that grown-ups take responsibility for their own health and call a doctor when they aren't well.

  11. I'm going to pick up some food on the way home. I haven't been eating at all well, and I never seem to get enough water; I just don't get thirsty, and I forget to drink.

I'm actually feeling dizzy now; I'm just trying to get my hours in for the day.

  12. Leeny...I'm just coming off of a bout with dehydration and constipation and I have to say I didn't see what I was doing to myself because of all the distractions around me. I really have to stop myself and think hard if I'm getting everything my body requires each day because if 'I' don't...who will? I'm feeling much better now but for a few days there I was pretty miserable for having neglected myself. Definitely keep an eye on your liquid and fiber intake. It sounds like so little but can take you down and out quick if neglected. :D Get well Leeny!

  13. Leeny, if the dizziness persists, perhaps you really should see your doctor about it. It could be an important early symptom of a potentially more serious problem.

(And passing out is definitely not normal.)

  14. Glad it was not too serious for Mr Leeny. Now, as for you, young lady ! Please... take are of you ! I know, easier said than done... but please do your best.

  15. During the past hour, I made myself drink three cups of water. I've just gone to the bathroom for the first time since this morning (that should tell us something) and no longer feel dizzy, just tired.

Mr. Leeny has asked me to stay at the office until he calls me. He says he's working on something that I will like a lot when I get home. Because of his OCD, he works better without an audience. I wonder what he's doing?

  16. Leeny you must take care of yourself! Prayers for strength to you and wisdom to take care of yourself dear Leeny. I hope that the surprise is wonderful--you need it!

  17. According to my doctor, when you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated. Then you have to play catch up. She also says that when you pee it should be very pale. If it's too yellow, your body is conserving water. Pale means you are hydrated and your body is getting rid of what it doesn't need.

Try to find a bottle or cup with a top. Fill it up each morning and sip all day. I like water so drinking it isn't a problem a problem for me but my daughters don't really like drinking plain water. They make lemonade or Koolaid, with only a third of the water it calls for, and freeze it in ice cube trays. Then in the morning they fill up their big cups with flavored ice cubes and water and drink that.

  18. Oh Leeny - please take care of yourself! That's a good sign, that you are feeling better after having had some water. CBM is right - you were probably badly dehydrated! I know how hard it can be to remember to drink enough water during the day. CBM's suggestion for the flavored ice cubes sounds great!

  19. Last night when I got home, Mr. Leeny proudly showed me that he had swept the carpet in the living room and hallway, and changed and washed the bedclothes. That doesn't sound like much, but he was off the couch doing his job! Lately he's been asking me not to place demands on him until after the cardiac stress test on the 29th, but this he decided to do himself.

Had another dizzy spell earlier and made myself drink about 2 cups of water; now I feel better. I'm going to have to stay on top of this.

  20. Get well Leeny!

  23. Leeny, please at least call the doctor and talk with the nurse about the dizzy spells. I just get this feeling that you should, and if you would humor this dear little old lady, I would be most grateful.

We make good nurses for others but lousy doctors for ourselves. I went to get my physical last December, and when the doctor took my blood pressure, he got very quiet.

Then he asked me if I was having any headaches.

    "Yes, just these little ones."

    Did I have blurry vision?

"Sometimes early in the morning, but that's because I haven't had breakfast yet."

    Any problems with dizziness?

    "Very little."

Then he told me that my blood pressure was 202/110. I was the best candidate for a stroke at that moment than anyone else in the city.

And I had gone for a physical because I do that every year, not for any special reason. Headaches, blurry vision, dizziness? I had a legitimate reason for everything. But my reasons were all wrong. I was convinced that I was in good health, namely because I had not died yet. And I was scared to think that something really was wrong.

Now I am on medication, my vision is clear, headaches gone, and no more dizzy spells.

Please at least call the doctor, sweetheart. Something is wrong, so let's get it fixed.

And please remember that there are a lot of people that we can do without.

You are not one of them. Losing you would leave a raw hole in the universe. Don't make us go through that.

  25. Thanks Leeny,Emma is right. [[[Leeny]]]

  26. Thank you Emma for convencing Leeny to call the doctor..I too this year ended up at the dr with 198/101...So now I'm on meds too, but feeling better.
We will be checking on you on Monday Leeny!!! {{HUGS}} and try (I know that is not easy for you) to take it easy on yourself this weekend

    Posted 1 year ago by 2bpurring #

  27. My blood pressure was good when I went to the doctor on Friday, so I don't think that's what it is. I guess I don't really know what it is, so that's why I'll call the doctor. I'll tell them I'm humoring a dear little old lady and a bunch of kitten lovers!

Posted 1 year ago by Leeny #

  28. Thank you Leeny, I'm sure your dr. will understand..after all we wouldn't want to drag you into the dr. with all our claws..lol.

    Posted 1 year ago by 2bpurring #

  29. Leeny, in addition to the water, try some gatorade to keep your electrolytes in balance. Also nibble on healthy snacks throughout the day. The dizziness can also be a sign of your blood sugar dropping. The best way to stay on an even keel is to nibble on snacks with some protein, like peanuts, and drink something when you snack as well. Keeping you in my prayers.

    Posted 1 year ago by KYKAT 12 23 #

  30. LOL, 2bp! I think I'll tell the doctor THAT, too!

BTW, I made a report on the other thread, too, but I'm not posting anything else on it because I want to let it drop off.

(Hm, didn't have to let it drop off, Kittenmaster's deleted it.)
