    Hey this is a good idea. I seem to be doing everything bass acwards so this is a good post to respond to.

    I am new and came through some wonderful member who read an article I wrote. It's taken me a couple of weeks to kind of feel my way around this site but I think I am starting to get it and tonight I managed to get my own avatar in place.

    My avatar is my beautiful Bijou whom I lost at 17 years of age last January. I have launched a website to honor her and to help others who are grieving. I found although there were many sites online, I couldn't find one which met my needs when I lost her and went looking for information on Dealing with Grief. I hope you will visit my site if you have lost a pet but even if you haven't there is a lot of good information, advice and some of my writing (mostly about cats) I also have a Hero Hall of Fame and maybe you will know of someone you would like to nominate.

    This is great, I love seeing everyone's avatar without having to click on their name. Right now I have Miss Nibs (aka Nabby). I will have to rotate the other girls in since my chances of getting all three of them into the same picture are pretty slim. Nibs is the last of my outdoor rescues (Nora and Gem came from other homes). Nibs showed up shortly after my Gibbie went to the Bridge, 6 years ago. She resembles my favorite breed (Maine Coon) in every way, so I call her my "designer knockoff". She is by far the sweetest cat I have ever lived with. She is about 7 years old.

    In my avatar its a pic of my little girl Lola-boots but I have another tux which is identical to the girl only thing different is that Rico-Suave has a patch on black on his nose

    We sure have alot of Tuxies in the family here! Wow! Everone's babies are so amazing though. I love Susie's current pic of Misty. Gray kitties are sooo special. With interchanging our gravatars we can give a brief description of their different personalities...very cool!

    I only just noticed the post of Lynn's site above and would like to say it is a very lovely site. Thoughtful, caring and precise. Thanks for sharing it with us Lynn as there's much need for sites to ease the pain of our pet losses. So many people today don't understand how truly devastating it is to some of us to lose a pet. I can only say they aren't pet people.
