  1. Ever since we got Honey-Bear her basic routine would be to:

Wake up, snack a little bit.
Play for a few hours, yes seriously like 2-3 solid play time.
Nap time till daddy gets home from work, around 5-7 hours.
Wake up, snack, potty. Little bit of solitary play time.
Nap 2-3 hours on my lap at the computer.
Play for 30 mins to an hour, potty.
And then nighty night in her bathroom for the night so we can sleep.

But last night we decided to try having her in our room for the night.
It went well, she didn't chew on anything she wasn't supposed to.
But she was up ALL night.

Then this morning she was taken into her bathroom around 5-6am because she had finally woken up daddy, who was sleeping like a log while I was half awake all night. She peed, we got up a few hours later. And she wanted to play.

So basically I think she's been awake for close to 9 hours. I thought kittens were supposed to sleep around 18 hours a day. Napping and Deep Sleep. She's finally calmed down in my lap. But daddy just asked me to iron his pants and sweater for work. I'm afraid getting up will make her wake up and she won't stay calm and sleep enough.

  2. My kizzie is like that. She is almost always awake. she will be up for an insanely long time then sleep the deepest sleep I have ever known a cat to sleep lol. I have picked her up, moved her, turned her over, moved things around her and when she is asleep.... she is in a coma.

  3. she napped some of that time myv. Kittens play until they crash most times. Mine like to play most of the night but they do sleep. This morning wobbles came up and pushed herself under my arm for cuddles and a nap

  4. Kittens will have more play time...maybe you should try to play with her during the day for while (if you can) and she might sleep a little better at night....How old is she?

  5. She's about 10 weeks. I'm glad she's not the only one who just plays and plays and wears herself out.

Honestly she gets at least 4 hours durring the day of my full attention just for playing.

Pamphlets my vet gave me say play time usually lasts 15 minutes a day, then they wanna go do something else. HAH. 15 minutes...

Maybe I should get her a cat tree.

  7. 15 minuts... even my "lazy" Doxie will play for longer then that! we always have our hour in the evning. Its usualy enough for Doxie but Kizzie, maby I will see how long she can go lol. And they are both 2 years old. Im so glad Kizzie has Doxie cause honestly Kizzie by herself would be board out of her mind and probably knock everything she could over, and probably shred anything she could sink her claws and teeth into lol

  8. I just moved my leg, I think she may be in a deep sleep right now.

  9. Scratch that, she started purring, she's only napping.

Is it normal for them to sleep with their heads up?

Posted 3 years ago by myuvanc #

  10. Yes it is normal to sleep that way

  11. cant remeber anymore, but you can get em at walmart and target. It is cheaper than cat trees, and definitly not as well made, but they enjoy it anyway. Walmart has one that is a pirate ship. I am sorely tempted by it but dont really have room for another one

  12. Leela! has mommy-and-me time in the morning before I go to work, and she has a couple of toys that she can play with by herself. I guess she sleeps when no one is around or chats with the birds from her garden window. When I get home, she comes running to greet me - "mommeeeeeeeee!" I try to play with her as much as I can, kittens really need that, plus they're so darn cute and the kitten stage is gone in no time. (It is also doing wonders for my stress level.) She gets really wound up after dinner, attacks anything that moves under the covers when we go to bed, then she sometimes leaves, sometimes stays, and actually sleeps until someone wakes up. I'm thinking we're quite lucky there but I also know kitties go thru many phases...

  13. My Blackbeard has the Pirate Ship but now his butt is almost too big for him to get in it..but you can see a good picture of it if you go to Terri's catster page, that is where I got the idea..
