  1. I am new and came through some wonderful member who read an article I wrote and posted it here. I also write a column along with a group of primarily American authors called The Columnists.

It's taken me a couple of weeks to kind of feel my way around this site but I think I am starting to get it and tonight I managed to get my own avatar in place.

My avatar is my beautiful Bijou whom I lost at 17 years of age last January. I have launched a website to honor her and to help others who are grieving. I found although there were many sites online, I couldn't find one which met my needs when I lost her and went looking for information on Dealing with Grief.

I hope you will take a look at my site if you have lost a pet but even if you haven't there is a lot of good information, advice and some of my writing which is usually about cats. Hopefully it will put a smile on your face. There is also have a Hero Hall of Fame. You may know of someone you would like to nominate so please stop by for a visit.

Thank you for having me here.

  7. It's a lovely site Lynn, and much needed.

Are you still collating material for it? The following is a link to a poem I wrote for my beloved Titch who died of kidney failure in 2005 - Night Night Furball has been posted a number of times here on TDK, and seems to bring people comfort - please feel free to include it on your site if you would like.

  14. Thank you everyone for such a wonderful welcome. I am so pleased that some of you have bookmarked my website. I have also added a page now with help and information on how to deal with a disaster like Gustav. I haven't seen the news yet tonight but can only hope those in line to be affected by Gustav come out safe and sound. One page I have of links for everything from advice to a list of pet friendly hotels/motels across the U.S. and also includes an instructional video to help you prepare you pet for evacuation and natural disasters which is really good. I think those links can be helpful to everyone.

I would like to thank MadcatwomanintheUK who offered to let me use her poem for my site. It is indeed a beautiful poem with a very special meaning. I am not including poems and stories just yet but I will be soon and would be pleased to include it.

Thanks again everyone. I look forward to getting to know all of you better.

    Lynn
